568ml can from Alepa

Pours clear golden with a large head. Aroma of starch, hay, metallic notes and hints of vegetables. Taste is crisp with hints of hay, grass, starch and vegetables. Finishes with dry, bready and starchy notes. Not that different from the regular one, this one is probably more fresh and you can actually notice some distant hints of hops. Why did I even bother to buy this?!

Can. Golden, small to average and fully diminishing head. Light, malty - grainy and lightly sweetish aroma, no bitterness. Body is light, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish flavor. Finish is short to average, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish, some sharp metal, faint grassy hoppyness. Guys from marketing surely had fun time when naming this one.

Bought this without reading anything about it. Poured in a pilsner glass and took a mouthfull with a deep breath. What a disappointment! I´ve tasted so many good SAAZER- and GOLDING-beers so I had my expectations way too high. Booring, typical Finnish piss-lager-beer.

Sweetish and malty nose. Pale head. Clear golden color. Sweetish malty taste. Not very hoppy. Mild hops at end. Not very special. (thanks Antti)

Though marketed as a special version of Karhu, this "double hop" version tastes about the same as the normal version. So, not too much of anything except some nasty sort of bitterness.

1 pint can. Clear golden color. Medium size head, dissapears rather quickly. Almost no aroma. Watery, malty "flavor". Surprisingly bitter ending.

568 ml can. E30562. BB 25/08/2013. (K-Citymarket) Kuopio, Finland.
Clear golden colour with a small white head. Malt, mild sweetness and some candies in the aroma. This must be a joke. There’s no hops in the aroma or the flavour at all. The flavour is malt, grainy dryness and weak candy hops. I wish the hops weren’t that expensive in Finland so they could actually use the hops for brewing. This ain’t exactly bad but utterly useless as it’s almost identical to normal Karhu. Shame on Sinebrychoff! You really are underestimating us.

Same colour as a regular Karhu. Smells like a regular Karhu. Tastes like a regular Karhu.

You can sure tell this is double hopped - wow! The normal karhu has no hops in aroma, and this has precisely twice that! Just a little bit of the pale lager maltiness, that’s all. Pale and fizzy, unsurprisingly. Palate is massively watery, and fizzy. Flavour is ... not. Unable to finish that previous sentence with any adjectives - there simply is no flavour. Finish is thin, but later finish does have the hops build up. I won’t say nicely, as you can do so much more with these two fantastic hops. Clean. Certainly uncontaminated by taste.

Clear golden, medium head. Aroma has sweet and breay malts, some grassy hops. Sweetnes on the taste too. Almost sugary. Not much hops, just a hint of bitternes in the end. Suprisingly solid body although thins out in the aftertaste. Too much carbonation.
