Plastic bottle. Deep golden colour with small white head. Aroma is sweet alcohol, some metallic notes as wll as butterscotch and some biscuits. Flavour has a rather nice malty body along with some caramel, grass and mild notes of metal. Alcohol shows as a slight burn in the finish. A positive surprise.

1L plastic bottle. No head. Buttery aroma and buttery taste, which unfortunately is typical to most Karksi brews. Not my taste. The 7% alcohol is not noticeable though.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2010 Very pale, small head that quickly dissapears. Has some fairly pleasant bready undertones, caramel with mellow sweetness, some vegetable notes. Subtle carbonation makes this beer somewhat similar to homebrew.

(Bottle, 1 litre - thanks SaintMatty) This was close to its best before date. Opening the cork resulted only in small hiss. Colur was deep golden and no head was formed. Aroma perhaps had suffered while the bottle had been waiting for to be drunk. There was clear carboard and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were quite typical to European Strong Lager: sweetness, malts, carboard and mild bitterness. Aftertaste was just sweet. Drinkability was quite good and the sweetness wasn’t too intense. But this didn’t please me.

1L Bottle - Gold/amber with a slight haze. Slightly fruity aroma with malt and grain. Grainy taste with malt, corn and some dried fruit hints.

1L plastic bottle. Sweet aroma,golden color. Full taste, bitter aftertaste. My points for old - new brewery.

Pale, tiny head. Sour sweet lager aroma, heading towards gherkins. Full-bodied palate - sweet malts, a bit lactic. Some wet wool in the taste too, but fairly full bitter taste. Covers the 7% well. The only hint of the strength is a bitterness at the back of the mouth, but that’s hoppy bitterness rather than alcohol itself.
Rerate a few days later. Fresh bottle - dullish, but still pretty tasty.. Clean and drinkable. Definitely ESL not ML.

Plastic bottle 1 ltr @SOPP.
Slightly hazy yellow colot, small white head. Diacetylic, slightly sour nose. Very sweet flavor, almost caramelly, some grassy notes. Covers alcohol very well. "Best" of three Karksi beers.
