This year’s 22nd Anniversary beer is a Vanilla Imperial Stout, with a portion aged in bourbon barrels for nine months. The barrel-aged beer was then blended with a fresh batch of stout, along with the addition of fresh split Madagascar vanilla beans. The bourbon and vanilla flavors perfectly complement the dark chocolate and warming fishing of this 8.5% sipper, making it an ideal dessert or after dinner drink.

"Within the style and substyle, not a standout, but I’m a sucker for it all - vanilla, bourbon, impy stouts. so while this is not elite in that field by any stretch, it was still really good. light barrel influence, and a hefty dose of vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts, light coffee and raisins, Just a teeny tiny touch thinner than i like, but not to a fault, and it is smooth. One of the few KStrauss beers I’d get multiple times."

Bottle, 22oz. It pours a clear-looking reddish brown body under a dense, dark beige head of moderate size. There’s lots of vanilla and chocolate on the nose, with roasted malts, coffee hints and a little alcohol. Chocolate mousse in the flavor, with some alcohol. Coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and roasted malts. Full body, almost sticky on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation and a tad too much warmth. Lasting chocolate and vanilla finish with some coffee. Although a bit too sweet and warming, it’s a pleasant beer indeed. 131123

Ulfborg weekend celebration of nothing in particular. Dark brown with a lasting tan head. Roasted malt aroma with chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla and mild coffee. Sweetish roasted flavour with coffee, caramel and chocolate, and a touch of boozy alcohol. Well balanced beer
