3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to darkguardian. Clear amber in color with a white head. Caramel and vanilla nose. Taste like cream soda, more of a vanilla scotch ale in my opinion.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee. Getting all that wax off was not quick. Pours dark brown with a creamy 3 finger tan head. Aromas of bourbon and chocolate. Med+ body. Flavor is vanilla, chocolate, a little coffee, and some dark malt. Oak and bourbon do arrive, but vanilla and chocolate seem dominant. Smooth, near velvety. Nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle opened by banning. Served in a Jackie O’s snifter.
Pours near black with a thin off white head and a thin collars afterward. Not entirely opaque, which immediately indicates that it is not going to be as viscous as it should be. The nose brings vanilla plus a bit of light chocolate. There is a very slight roast presence. Flavor is pretty one dimensional. There is a strong amount of vanilla and not really much else. Light chocolate and roast in the background, but it could really use some hops or more oak, or potentially some more roast. Now, it’s just too sweet and has lots of vanilla with nothing backing it up. Medium body that could be more viscous. Okay, but a bit of a disappointment.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to HMF for the bomber! Poured cola brown, but not much deeper, with a buttermilky white head. The aroma picked up sweeter chocolates first, backed by rich vanilla beans and bourbon sweetness.. light-moderate roast to it.. very sweet, and just decadent on the nose. The vanilla beans and sweet bourbon just dominated the flavor department, with oak and lightly metallic bourbon providing some tartness on the edges.. darker chocolate and a hint of licorice deeper down.. more vanilla and barrel presence with a kiss of dark chocolate on the finish. Medium-bodied with a whole lot of sugars on the palate.. the tartness and flavors from the barrel treatment complemented it well, and I think more than 25% of the blend would have been too much.. all in all a very good brew.

22oz bottle. Pours a deep coffee brown with a creamy beige head, some light lacing. Nose held vanilla, cocoa with faint oak and bourbon notes. Medium in body. A great beer, but I’d love to see a 100% barrel version......

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle. Rating #24. Pitch black pour with a tan head. Light chocolate and vanilla aroma and a slight sweet bourbon aroma. Smooth, vanilla flavor, light bitter chocolate and a small amount of roast. Pretty good, I would of liked to see a little more of the barrel aged stuff in the blend. (1626)
