4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 bhensonb (7606) - Woodland, USA - FEB 9, 2012
Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Fred’s the man. Pours hazy darkish amber with a foamy near beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, treacle and maybe bourbon/vanilla. Med body. Flavor is dark fruit, treacle, chocolate, bourbon/vanilla and some astringent oak. Nothing overpowering here, but it’s reasonably complex and everything works well together. Didn’t notice the heat until it hit my lower throat - very warming down there. It’s fruity bourbon in the finish - not too strong - just about right. This is really well done.

22oz bottle shared by ygtbsm94: Pours a clear deep amber bronze with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a sweet light caramel and bourbon oak flavor with a touch of butterscotch. Starts with good fullness and chewy caramel malty sweetness with a healthy amount of warming vanilla bourbon before a semi-sweet oaky finish. Has good complexity, but could use a year or two of aging.

Clear amber pourbwith a small sudsy white head. Bready toffee and oxidized malts with vinous dark fruit and dough. Way to oxidized- no fun. Medium body with low carbonation, which didn’t help this beers cause.

Appearance: Pours a dark red with no head.
Aroma: Faint maple syrup and brandy. Fruit like pear and apple.
Taste: Brown sugar with a dusting of Euro hops, chocolate, whiskey, wood, maple syrup.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, sticky.
Overall: A beautiful sipper that will probably age really well. I am happy with the results of letting this years anniversary beer age for an entire year.

22 oz. bottle from Sea Trader Liquor & Deli - Pours a slightly hazy deep copper color with a 3/4 finger thick light tan head. Very light lacing. Aroma is oak/bourbon, toasted malt, esters, and vanilla. Very nice. Flavor is much of the same. Finish is soft and smooth. Alcohol is noticeable, but not overbearing. An excellent beer.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Almost clear and mid brown. There is a lot going on in the nose. Figs, wood, to name a couple. First sip is hot. Alcohol is tasted. Wood, vanilla, all kinds of fruit. Cinnamon. I just wish this were not so hot. Otherwise it is crazy complex and that makes it so much fun to try.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thanks Aaron for the pour! Dark brownish red with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, bourbon, toffee, hints of biscuit, touch of vanilla and rich burnt notes in there. Taste is a nice mix of sweet vanilla, bourbon, hints of caramel and dark fruit, touch of biscuit, toffee, hints of spicy dark fruits, finishing fairly sweet, but very tasty. Like this for sure!
