Pre-release sample at Beverages4less homebrew tasting event. Pours a dark amber color with a small beige head. The aroma is overtly funky with tart fruits, vanilla and oak. The flavor, like the nose, showcases sour red fruits aged superbly in oak with a bit of cocoa at the end for added complexity . The palate is creamy and silky smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes long and dry with lingering chocolates and cherries. Overall: Very tasty--a first rate sour.

10 apr 2014, bottle. Pink/amber. Nose is sour, sweet, cherries? Thin body, dry, fizzy, almost sets teeth on edge. Sugary Flemish red. More sweet than sour. Has hints if oak and unusual hints of something like rotten fruit. Overall it's very good but there are some odd notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Bronze beer with a big tan head. Tart and red/dark fruit aroma with light oak. Tart/sour flavor with light red/dark fruit and light oak. Medium bodied. Sour and light acetic notes linger with light dark fruit and oak.

Poured from the bottle, I did not get a geyser. However my sister dropped a bottle and said it blew up! From costco. Aroma is nice, fruity, sour. Flavor is better, fruity, oak y. Really good beer. Very fizzy. Nice red colour as well. Sacramento beer week starts tomorrow, very exciting!

Bottle from brewery. Pours a dark red brown with minimal head. Aroma is oak, cherry and slight tartness. Flavor is the same, very dry, lacks the tartness I would like.

Still, boring pour. Oaky, plenty of barrel, mild cherries, oxidized/drywall, soft sourness. Mediocre.

I didnít read the warnings here first, and sure enough this thing came geysering out of the bottle. Poured into a shaker glass. Color is a dark amber with a very fizzy tan head that settles down fairly quickly. Aroma has definite sour, cherry, and oak notes. Flavor is nicely sour and tart with some sweetness as well to balance things out. Various fruit notes come through, seems like cherry and grapes primarily. Iím not getting much of the oak in the flavor other than perhaps a touch on the finish. This has a nicely tart palate without being overly sour and despite the high level of carbonation, this seems like itís been smoothed out a bit by the oak. Actually quite refreshing! As long as youíre prepared to catch this when it comes flying out of the bottle, this is pretty good stuff!

Good thing I read warnings about this being a gusher. I had a glass ready and only wasted a few ounces. ~Tart acetic sour aroma of cherry and peach as well as prune. Light earthy mustiness and light caramel. ~Pours a dark red/amber color with lasting small very bubbly head. ~Sour throughout in flavor with mixtures of fruit. Im getting pear, cherry, peach and prune or raisin. Some caramel chocolate as well, but very subdued. ~Medium light bodied with high CO2 that quickly turns frothy. Lingering acetic cherry finish. ~Enjoyable beer. Way overcarbonated. I couldnt drink more than a glass of this before messing up my stomach.

EXPLODED AS SOON AS CRACKED OPEN THE CAP! I WOULD NOT AGE THIS AT ALL FOR RISK OF REAL EXPLOSION! Nice crisp copper, ruby, violet and brown coloured body with a zillion bubbles rising from the bottom (not really a surprise here) with a nice one centimetre tall tan head. Complex aroma of sour grapes, cherries, raspberries, light spices, malt, alcohol and a bunch of sweetness. Medium-bodied; Assertive spices up front with a solid malt note, a lot of alcohol and fruit, some lighter sour notes and a woodsy, almost oak-like finish that still shows a lot of sweetness from raisins and prunes. Aftertaste is quite complex with the effervescence coming through strongest, the alcohol and sour notes still at play and the sweetness coupled with the spices all showing very interesting nuances throughout the finish. Overall, aside from losing a few cL from the explosion, an interesting beer, but not worth the price - great to sample and great to try, but not again. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Texas Liqour in Carlsbad, California on 19-March-2013 for US$17.99 sampled at home in Washington on 25-August-2013 and I was happy to drink it now and not be forced to clean up an explosion!

Amber pour with an off white head. Cherries, oak, juicy fruits, and some nice sourness. Damn Good!

Sample from a bottle. Mostly hazy amber orange color. Thin khaki head. No lace really sticks. Woody, dark fruity nose. Red berries. Bigger sour tart taste, moderate sweet in the finish. Medium body. Softer carbonation, more dry finish. Good flanders.
