Jun 17, 2008 A muted alt. Had at Universal City Location. Pours a copper brown color with a small white ring around the glass. Aroma is slightly malty with fruit, although the scent is not very powerful. Taste is extremely nutty with some sweet malts. Lively carbonation.

~Very light scent, sweet maltiness.
~Light sweet malt taste, some honey possibly.
~Medium feel with dry bitter finish
~ This is a nice smooth beer. I like it. Could use some more oomph though. A bit weak in scent and taste.

Nov 26, 2007 Updated: Dec 1, 2007On draft at Karl Strauss Universal City, 11/26/07. Agreeably dark brown (though kinda wrong for the style) with ruby highlights. Nicely carbonated. Aroma of smoke and roasted malt. Bitter at first, almost porter-like. Malty, thin. Aftertaste reminds of charcoal. Other than that, a clean finish. Hopless flavor profile. Drinkable but not outstanding in any way.
