I had this beer on tap at one of their breweries...one of the best drinking experiences of my life

It is what it is.... I micro wanna-be which is really just mass-produced beer designed to appeal for "craft" drinkers who wanna slam a 6-pack. Nothing exciting going on here, and really boring. I’ve had much better vienna lagers.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2012 Fairly weak beer with watered down taste. Only redeeming value is its looks - a nice head of fine microbubbles.

Slight orange and vanilla notes on the nose. Darkened shade of amber/gold appearance with no foam. Flavors of subtle orange, apricot and faint vanilla. A lot of sweetness going on, a little too much for my liking. Overall, a pretty decent lager. A little too sweet although, pleasant drinkability. I’d give this a C+ rating.

bottle. pretty average. commercialized. Decent amber would definitely pull this from the cooler before a BIG3. nothing to right home about though.

San Diego Baaastin Laagaa? Credit where credit is due to both Boston Beer Co and KS...but this isn’t a great beverage. Aroma and palate are almost not there...Looks nice but the flavor isn’t worth commenting on. I wish KS all the success BBco has had, and if they need a flavorful boring beer to drive that success, so be it. That being said, this is a flavorful boring beer.

12oz bottle. Fast dissolving head and very thin lacing over clear amber body. Aroma is apple juice and apple bread and a hint of hard candy. Taste is mildly bittersweet. Palate is soft and smooth. Overall, despite the commercial hype, this beer is just OK and besides being clean and light, doesn’t try to be anything crafty.

Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of toasted malt, carmel and a hint of fruittiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of toasted malt, carmel and a hint of fruittiness with a crisp finish.

Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel and toast. The flavor has sweet toffee like malt, toast, and light earthy notes. Pretty good.

12 oz. bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours clear amber orange with almost no head. Aroma of bready malts, slight caramel tone and sort of a syrupy quality. Flavour is quite sweet, with bready and caramel malt, a slightly cloying syrupy tone, with a lingering breadiness and light hop character. Low complexity, with soft carbonation. Nothing special here.
