I have had both draught and bottle. Light hoppy nose with some malt. Initial malt with some hop spice mixed with a touch of sweetness. Finish has a decent hop bitterness to it---kinda dry. Well balanced beer and easy drinking. I like it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A nice dark lager, crisp and easy drinking. Poured with a cream colored head that lasted halfway through glass; some lacing. Clear, medium amber color. Subtle floral hop bouquet; sweet caramel malt in the nose; some acidity acidity and green apple. Palate is firm bodied with a crisp carbonation; softens as the glass warms. Flavor starts with malt sweetness and crisp acidity which carries to mid-palate where a hint of green apple emerges briefly before finishing somewhat dry with a residual malt sweetness; pleasant yeasty-bready aftertaste. Mild hop bitterness evident throughout. I wouldn't hesitate bringing this to a gathering.

Nice color but small head. Beckoning aroma and smooth,carmel-malty flavor with a long, somewhat metallic finish. Good body and carbonation. Pretty good as lagers go, still not my favorite style.

This is a delicious, malty flavored beer. A fine Bavarian lager, I like it quite a lot.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2003 I have had this beer several times, bottle and draft, and while it dosen't stand out, it's a fairly decent vienna lager.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2007 A nice beer. Obviously amber in color. I prefer this beer in the bottle as opposed to the reaily available draft. Rerated 11/07 this stuff is pretty damn tasty still.

I was very disappointed with this beer since ambers are my favorite. Light ambered colored with taste of caramel and metal.

Very light copper colored. Sweet caramel nose and a crystal malt body. Finish is moderately bitter and smooth.

Had on tap at TGI Friday's La Jolla on February 21st, 2003
Aroma has slight hint of malt and alcohol with an amber/red appearance. Head is minimal, not even worth mentioning. Taste is of strong alcohol with a slightly acidic flavor. Not a pleasing beer. Hate to take down a local brewery, but this is not their best offering.

A very light amber color with a head that is holding on to the edge of my glass with all of it's strength. A waft of caramel and malts. The unfavorable metallic taste hits me lightly on the tongue and as it warms the caramel really jumps out. Not a fan...I hate metallic.
