3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2005 Copper brass color with a thin white pillow head. Aroma is light and resembles a pale lager. A tad sweet flavor of caramel and malt. Not much spice or hop noticed, but i do like the sour notes of green grape given off. A standard beer that i could drink a whole keg of.

Draught at Karl Strauss La Jolla. Clear dark golden color with bubbly off white head. Pleasant caramel malt nose, almost buttery. Caramel is also prominent in the flavor. Slightly sweet. A very good amber lager that exceeded my expectations for this often bland style.

DRAFT: A very smooth, nicely flavorful lager. The aftertaste was nice and did not taste bitter. It had a spicy linger that was fairly well layered. Good flavor. Nice bronze color and very smooth. Very little head. Well done

On-tap at SD Airport location. Terrible food, beer was ok. Pours dark amber with a moderate white head, good lace. Smells caramelly malty, earthy, slightlymetallic. Tastes caramellymalty sweet, darkish grain flavors. Tasty but not super complex. Medium body, semi-dry, good carbonation.

Excellent beer in this category, though I may be over-generous as it is a hometown brew. Good color, very easy to drink. Sweet, but hops are detectable. Won’t blow anyone away, but a very good beer, nonetheless.
