On tap at Karl Strauss Costa Mesa. Pours hazy golden with white head. Aromas of bready malts, yeast, banana, cloves, and some spices. Flavors of spices, banana, clove, bread, and malts. Mouthfeel is a little syrupy but this is still a pretty solid trippel.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2010 Growler to go from Sorrento Valley restaurant: Murky apricot/peach color with a wisp of fast fading off-white foam. Aroma is rich over-ripe tropical fruit and a hint of belgian yeast.. Flavor is rich with over-ripe peach, apricot and cantaloupe, hints of citrus and a light spicy/orangy bitterness in the finish. Medium-full body is rich and creamy with very light carbonation. Light alcohol evident in the taste warms the face.

Draft at CityWalk in Universal City. They are big on the beer stats here. This had 9.0 ABV, 27 SRM, 15 IBU, and 20.6 PLATO. Dark copper/light orange with thin white head. Caramel nose, along with slight spiciness. Palate is complex and the strength. Some sour, some citrus, malty, tiny bubbles. Alcohol comes through as it warms. Nice.

From the tap poured a dark amber color with a good amount of head. Strong hoppy sweet malt flavor with a lingering finish.

(11/1/08) Draught sample at Blue Palms in Hollywood. Slightly hazy golden color. Aroma is a bit weak but has some fruits and spices. Sweetish flavor with some malt, caramel, fruits, some spiciness and a dry spicy finish. Rounded mouthfeel. A nice Tripel.

Tap at La Jolla location. Pale golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly spicy. Some light apricot and orange blossom honey character. Soft and fruity with a light clove and a bit of cherry as well. Lean malts, a bit of sweetness but not cloying or sticky in any way. Light clove, soft fruit and a nice lingering spiciness. There is a nice balance of soft clove and fruit. Lean but soft spiciness. Quite a lovely beer.

On tap @ Hamilton’s San Diego. Sweet Georgia peach comes through in the aroma of this sunset orange hazed brew. Citrus, banana, and buttermilk biscuits linger on the palate. Alcohol is invisible. A great beer; would love more from this brewer if this is the caliber they tend to put out.
