3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 marcus (5015) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 4, 2013Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours golden with a decent off-white head and a citrus aroma. There is a spicy fruit and caramel malt flavor with a Belgian yeast feel - a liitle banana ester - and a very dry finish.

Smells great; citrusy, piney, and slightly tropical hop notes. Flavor is dominated by Belgian yeast, which isn’t well blended with the hop flavours.

Thanks to Exiled for sharing this bottle. Amber with a white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast with some grassy notes. Flavor is classic Belgian IPA. I get some nice yeast notes as well as some pine and grass. There is also some brown sugar sweetness. Low bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Thanks OCBeer. Very subtly masterfully done. A little like a black IPA, with some Cascadian. Deep yellow with retained head. Nice use of spices. Very good drinkability and refreshing. Hoppy, but not at DIPA level.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SDalkoholic (1769) - Chula Vista, California, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Bottle from E street Liquor: Poured a dense golden brass color and was topped by a frothy layer of foam head. As for the aroma, my nose is instantly gratified with a heavy dosage of Belgian yeast that is decked out with spices and has scents of coriander, black licorice, and crushed peppercorn while also having a strange smell of dried out dank. The flavor is much more subtle in its delivery, however, it still does have a spicy profile of yeast that suggests all of the same ingredients that I mentioned in the aroma, but comes together well with the thick syrupy Karl Strauss malts and light background of zesty citrus like hops. This is an okay beer that’s meant to only be tasted once since I know I won’t be purchasing another bottle or ordering it in a bar unless they don’t have anything better.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 DesertDevil (198) - Arizona, USA - DEC 15, 2012
Bottle, pours golden straw color with thin, bubbly head. Slightly fruity, citrus ester aroma (banana). Malty start with a lovely ease into balanced hops, leading to sweet and tiny bit spicy orange peel curaçao dry finish. Perfectly balanced. Great palate.
