Jan 30, 2008 Smooth, rich flavor that tapers off after the first couple of sips. Aroma is slightly hoppy with the chocolate malts coming through after. Body is lively but not overwhelming. Good overall beer that is perfect for a warm San Diego evening.

Jul 10, 2007 A roasty chocolate malt aroma. Definite sweetenss comes through in the nose. The beer is black with a tan head. It looks a little muddy and crude as well. Flavor is intensely roasty, nutty, and chocolatey. It finishes pretty crisp with a lingering coffee flavor.

Jun 30, 2007 On tap at Karl Strauss. Hazy brown with no head. Rich chocolate, nutty, and roasty aroma and taste with a clean crisp finish. I thought this one was pretty good.
