Poured from a draft into a pint glass at Karl Strauss Brewery in La Jolla, Calif. Color was black. About one finger of head. Bubbly cloudy lacing. Healthy amount of film that was evenly spread out on the glass. Smelled of toffee and chocolate malts. Tasted similar to the nose with chocolate and toffee malts leading the way. Also some caramel in there. Good tasting beer. Medium body. Creamy slick texture. Average carbonation Smooth finish. I really liked this beer. It was smooth from the get-go and was perfect for my mood.

Urge. Black with fizzy eggshell head. Nose light roasted malt and high sweetness. Very light nose. Taste light flat malty smack with only a hint of sweet. Not a lot there but is good for the style.

Ungstrup (26200) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 15, 2009
Draft at the Carlsbad location. A black beer with a red shine under a tan head. The aroma is very malty combined with notes of bread and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with a light acidic edge from the roasted malt, since it is rather roated, and has a dry, bitter, and roasted finish. 28 IBU’s. MIne was stated at 4.4% ABV.
