Growler to go from Sorrento Mesa: Deep red-amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and a hint of fruit. Flavor starts malty sweet with hints of dark fruit followed by a hint of cherry and a light bitterness in the finish. Medium body is creamy with moderate carbonation. Alcohol is warming in the tummy.

On tap; poured a dark amber color with a white head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, bread, and sweet malt. Flavor was sweet, toasted, bready with some caramel and fruit. Solid.

SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 29, 2010
On tap at the Old Columbia brewpub. pours brown with a thin white head. Has a fruity aroma. The flavor is sweet with a mild bitterness. The most dramatic thing is its wine-like nature. Delicious but too sweet for the style.

On tap at the Universal City Location. Pours a clear amber with an off-white ring around the head. Tons of wheat and malts in the aroma with some fruitiness. Taste is nutty, malty and some tobbacco. Slightly cream mouthfeel.

Thanks WeeHeavySD for entering this beer. This rating has been sitting in my wallet for months waiting for someone to enter the beer. I’ve tried it once or twice at Karl Strauss Carlsbad. Looks great. Deep red color. Small microfoam off-white head. Mild aroma. A little malty. Taste is decent. Leans sweet. Tastes a little young. Maybe a touch of vegetal or something, but still very good. Easy to drink.

On Tap @ Hamilton’s shared with Bikesandbeer. Pretty nice brew overall. Pours dark brown not completely opaque with a tan head. Nose is sweet and malty. Taste is sweet, malty and nice with a chocolate overtone. Good work Karl Strauss this is a nice Dopplebock.
