3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Karl Strauss Flanders, 22oz bottle shared by the KS rep at Beechwood BBQ, seal beach... Pours a hazy, semi-trans reddish caramel
brown with a thin wispy white head... Aroma is earthy, fair must,
light sour and oddball... Flavors are sour no acidity bit more of a
muted light cherry vinegar essence. Flavors donít come through all
that much, a bit muddled. Carbonation is alright but not much else

Served on tap at the San Diego Brewers Guild Festival 2010.The appearance is amber with a tan head. The aromas are sweet fairly intense cherries and fruits. The flavors follow the nice cherry flavors with some light amount of tartness. The mouth is medium bodied and well carbonated. Very enjoyable.

Pours cloudy red with caramel highlights, small offwhite head, some lace. Smells mellow and malty with a hint of sourness and a good dose of dishwater. Tastes about the same. Some malt sweetness, some sour funky-ness, a little bit of fruit and once again dishwater. Medium body, good carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Universal location. Pours with a hazed amber body with a lightly off-white head. Aroma of cherries, leather, green apple, lactic acid and light bready notes. Flavor is light and a bit thin, acidic, but with zero brett or pedio notes (seems to be all lacto or they added a ton of lactic acid to it). Some cherry notes. Tastes like a big, caramel malt, berliner. Lively bubbles. Okay, but I would have enjoyed some funk along with the acid.
