On tap; I think at PP. Poured an amber orange type color with an off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel and maybe some fruit/caramel. Flavor was much of the same; and ok overall.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2010 Sample at the Universal City location. This beer pours a clear orange color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Top ring of lacing with spots underneath. Sweet malt aroma with some hops in the background. Light body with flavors of sweet caramel malt and lightly grassy hops. The finish is sweet malt with a short fruity finish. Slightly above average overall.

A: The pour is a golden amber color with a short lived white head. S: A lightly sweet nose with plenty of bread. The hops are fairly grassy and "green". T: The flavor is somewhat light with bread, light molasses, and a bit of sweetness. Again, a very grassy and wild/green hop flavor. I just can’t quite find a better way to describe it, but it’s just odd. M: The body is medium with a low carbonation that I’m not sure is from the growler or just the way the beer is... D: Karl Strauss usually makes some good beers, but this is not one of them. Wouldn’t bother with this one.

Taster@Sorrento Mesa Location: Light amber color with a wisp of off-white foam. Aroma is caramel sweet. Flavor starts caramel sweet followed by toffee and a soft bitterness in the finish. Medium body is kinda syrupy with moderate carbonation.

On tap @ Karl Strauss. Pours medium gold with a small off white head. Nose was mostly baking spices with a light sweetness I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Flavor was much of the same, decent stuff.

On tap at the brewery downtown San DIego. This was one of many on tap that I tasted and thought it was just ok.
