Amber pour with a khaki head. Fruity hop profile, lots of floral notes, and plenty of caramel, toffee, and toasted malt sweetness. Hints of citrus, some pine, and a touch of grass. Sweet flavor of caramel, toffee, and toast. Good floral and fruity hop character, light citrus, and hints of pine. Very light bitterness on the finish.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 SDalkoholic (1769) - Chula Vista, California, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Bottle from Bev 4 Less: Created a firm layer of foamy head up top while a dark brass/copper color filled my pint glass. As for the aroma, a deep profile of caramel malts fill the nose and mask the alcohol content completely, but I’m unable to pick up on any scents of hops. The flavor is dominated by the sweet and sticky caramel malts that drive this recipe and really juice the Red Trolley beer into becoming an Imperial Red ale. I definitely enjoy the alcohol presence in this beer but the drink is a little too sharp for my taste.

Bottle. Pours with a clear amber-orange hued body with a small, off-white/tan head. Aromas are of tea, marmalade, oxidized. Some caramel, floral, sweet, jammy, mild esters. Flavors are sweet, malty, sugary, bready, orange marmalade. Soft malt profile. Medium alcohol. Too sweet for my tastes. Orange rind, light dark fruit. Surprisingly smooth alcohol wise. Medium carbonation, slightly warming and a bit flabby.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 jonno (2003) - JAPAN - AUG 12, 2012
Some people were going gaga over this, nut i found it a plain, if oddly rewarding easy drinking big beer. No great projection of flavour - some burnt sugar, sticky toffee and a moderate to heavy bitter finish. Nothing really distinct, but enjoyable all the same.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ober (2763) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - AUG 9, 2012

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bnoel09 (378) - Elk Grove, California, USA - AUG 4, 2012
Poured from the bomber into a snifter. Color is sort of a rusty reddish brown with a thin cream colored head. Aroma is caramel malt with some brown sugar and some earthy hops. Flavor starts very malt forward with caramel malt and some toffee and dark fruit notes, with the earthy hops coming in towards the finish. Medium bodied with a sticky mouthfeel. Overall this is what it claims to be - a bigger, bolder version of their Red Trolley Ale. Red Trolley is a more malt forward red, and thus so is Off the Rails. If you are expecting a lot of hoppiness you’ll be disappointed, but if you like malty sweet reds you’ll enjoy it.
