COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imagine if Red Trolley T-boned a semi full of hops. Brewed with an overload of hops and five types of caramel malt, this full-bodied strong ale has plum, raisin, and caramel flavors that are balanced by an aggressive hop bitterness and warming finish. ABV: 8% 30 SRM 70 IBU 22 Plato

Bottle. Pours with a clear amber-orange hued body with a small, off-white/tan head. Aromas are of tea, marmalade, oxidized. Some caramel, floral, sweet, jammy, mild esters. Flavors are sweet, malty, sugary, bready, orange marmalade. Soft malt profile. Medium alcohol. Too sweet for my tastes. Orange rind, light dark fruit. Surprisingly smooth alcohol wise. Medium carbonation, slightly warming and a bit flabby.

Not one of their best efforts. Should have named it "Awful Really?" If there were any amount of hops in here it isnít much. Aroma is soft caramel, hints of toffee brown sugar. Appearance is cloudy red with almost no head. Taste is sticky sweet and not in the vinous way, malt malt and more malt but in a simplistic way. Palate is thick and heavy. Not what I was expecting or hoping for. Quite heavy and simple.

Pours a brwon and ruby color with a faint sweet malt aroma. Taste was distinctly plum, raisin, and caramel mixed together. The alcohol content came through in the flavor and dissipated rather quickly. This led to a warming finish, almost like a light alcohol burn in the chest after the swallow.

Pint at the brewpub. Pours light, clear red with an off-white head. Aroma is light, barely noticeable hops, sweet underlying malt, and perhaps some graininess. Taste is sweet malt with a touch of roast followed by light bitterness and an off flavor. Mouthfeel is clean. Did not care for this beer.

Bottle from LtDan. Thanks! Pours a plum orangish red with a small sudsy white head. Nose is grainy water, light vegetal notes, no hops. Flavor is more developed with some sweeter fruity flavors, light bitterness. Ends a little ashy.

Pours a dark orange. Big malty flavor followed by a harsh medicinal note. Some sweetness too that is overpowered by the ABV.

Can you say Scotch Ale? If there were any amount of hops in here it isnít much.
