3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle purchased at Total Wine, Tustin, CA
Dark brown pour with a minimal head, this beer has a nice flavor of light roast, chocolate, coffee, with a twang of winy-ness. I liked the flavor. Very tasty and a nice beer for sipping.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from K & B wine cellars. Pours an opaque coffee brown with a faint ruby hue. Nose holds roasted malts, light hops and a faint barrel presence. Light vinous notes on the palate. Karl has honestly been kicking ass the past few years, keep it up!!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle. Rating #16. Very dark red almost maroon color, not very porterish, the head is a nice creamy dark tan with pretty decent lacing. Roasty aroma, a little smokey even, the coffee is very present. Wow, the flavor is very different from the aroma, sweet dark fruits and just a touch of the coffee in the finish, very smooth but very tasty. (1449)

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle. Pleasantly surprised by this one. Has a super dark pour with a oily texture. Medium sized off white bubbly head. Has an oaky presence in the aroma as well as dark chocolate. The flavor was a bit on the sweet side, but I suppose that comes from the port barrels. Creamy mouth feel and fairly easy to drink.

Bomber from BevMo. Very deep amber/ruby in color. Stong roastred malt aroma. Some coffee and vanilla. Kind of sweet as well. Smooth and creamy. Some burnt coffee to go along with milky candy sugar. A little alcohol is present. Enjoyable sipper.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by cptnspeed1 (i think)...thanks Brad (I think)! - Pours mahogany with a thin tan head. Nose is molasses, brown sugar, lots of sweet, bready malt--but I don’t smell any of the port barrel. Taste is a little less sweet, with more maltiness and a raisin notes. Big, thick, and slick. This one has the emphasis on the sweet and decadent, but I really hoped for the port to make more of a presence.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Created a monstrous size of foamy head while the liquid was a dark brown color. As for the nose, there was a mild and subtle scent of lightly roasted malt with a faint background of coffee. The palate is smooth and has a velvety texture where as the flavor is a robust combination of black licorice, cocoa powder, and decaf coffee. There is a minimal amount of wood barrel left behind after the aging process but considering that this was brewed by Karl Strauss, this is surprising a decent Baltic porter from them.
