COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
n San Diego, we’re not known for our partridges or pears but we can all relate to those noisy parrots and their relentless “caroling”. Parrot in a Palm Tree is a robust Baltic Porter brewed especially for the Holidays. Aged two months in San Pasqual Tawny Port barrels, the resulting brew isn’t for the birds. This winter warmer boasts a complex bouquet of dark fruits, espresso and chocolate, with hints of oak in its warming finish. Raise a glass to 2010 or save a bottle as this limited release will age with the best of them.

Thanks bro! Ruby black with a creamy pale tan head and caramel colored edges. Aroma of chocolate covered raisins as well as some vinous port notes. Some warm roasted flavor with caramel, malt, and a slightly fruity/sweet finish. Smooth and creamy texture (if a little thin) and some lingering bitter chocolate. Quite enjoyable. Nice ending to an epic two weeks.

Tasted a bomber bottle. Pours a very dark, translucent brown with a medium-sized, fluffy beige head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Flavors are rich, sweet, and very interesting: lots of chocolate and molasses, pitted against juicy dark fruit notes such as raisin. A smooth and somewhat oily mouthfeel, and while this beer seems fairly rich, it’s still drinkable and doesn’t feel overly heavy. My favorite thing about this beer is the long finish and aftertaste, which reminds me of cherries backed by a light coffee bitterness. Really nice. I’ll look forward to drinking this again next winter.

This is a great Baltic Porter. I really enjoyed it. Poured from a 22, it had a nice rich dark brown hue with a creamy off white head. I could smell oak, rich dried fruits, chocolate/coffee tones. The flavor was right on. You could taste the oaky flavors along with the rich chocolate, raisins, dates. Warming finish, full bodied. Very nice. I will be picking up a few more.

Picked this one up from Beverages 4 Less, apparently they were the first to get their hands on it. Pours a deep, dark brown with an espresso-like frothy head. Smells of cocoa and dried fruit, with subtle hints of oak and coffee. The taste is pretty damn impressive with dark chocolate, plums, raisins, and subtle oak undertones. Not too heavy on the booze, nice silky texture, and hints of port in the finish. Overall, well done. I’ll have to pick-up a few bottles to lay down.

Medium quality, although i’m maybe rating too low because it doesn’t have my type of taste combination :)

Appearance: Dark brown with a tan, thick creamy head. Aroma: Wonderful bouquet of dark fruits, hints of expresso and light dark chocolate. Slight spice Taste: A lot is going on here. Boasts a complex mixture of dark fruits, roasted coffee like flavors (minus the astringency), touch of chocolate, oakiness from the barrel aging? Wonderful mixture for a winter warmer. Mouthfeel: Nice and smooth. The abv is just right for a Baltic porter. Just the right kick to bring on that nice winter Coat we all seek from a good winter warmer. Drinkability: Highly quaffable. Pour me another please.
