COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
n San Diego, we’re not known for our partridges or pears but we can all relate to those noisy parrots and their relentless “caroling”. Parrot in a Palm Tree is a robust Baltic Porter brewed especially for the Holidays. Aged two months in San Pasqual Tawny Port barrels, the resulting brew isn’t for the birds. This winter warmer boasts a complex bouquet of dark fruits, espresso and chocolate, with hints of oak in its warming finish. Raise a glass to 2010 or save a bottle as this limited release will age with the best of them.

Poured into a Tulip glass. Mild aroma, faint of mocha and malt. Dark but not opaque pour. Taste is more mild than nose or color; some smoke and toast flavor, ok palate, not too bright but not chewy either. Good but not great for this style.

22oz bottle, thanks Alex. Pours with a nice big even head and fluffy lacing. Quite dry and roasty with a peppery finish, hints of wine, toffee and raisins. Roasty patent malt, burnt nuts, toffee, coffee, licorice, oak, peat, light raisin. Touch more port notes would had been nice.

Nose is chocolatey with light vanilla and port notes. Pours dark brown, thin head. Flavors of roast, chocolate, light vanilla sweetness, a little thin. I wanted more out of this. Not bad, but sounded better on paper. port. Kind of thin

Served from a 22 oz bottle from OTM. The appearance is a nice brown black with a medium sized foamy pale brown head. The aromas are chalky medium roast malts, and some light fruit additions. The flavors are medium roast malts, raw oak staves, raisins, the roast level builds, more dried dark fruits come in to play as well. The mouth is medium bodied and cola carbonated which gives it any artificially filling full mouth. Comes and goes but overall pretty decent.

A nice lil beer. Perhaps a little more time in those port barrels but nice varietal flavor profile. Some dark fruits, spice, Figs, complementary sherry/oxidation notes starting on.

Pour is dark brown with a tan head. Aroma and flavor are both of brown sugar, roasted malts, and toffee. Some slight spice/nutmeg in the finish. I didn’t pick up any notes of the barrel aging.

creamy chocolate nose, some wintery nutmegy spice. dark mousey brown, frothy tan head. sharp and warm with alcohol. leather, raisin, chewy malt, finishes warm.
