On draft at Breakwater Brewing. An absolute peanut butter bomb of a beer. The aroma has PB to it, the taste and finish both are loaded with chocolate and PB! Great brew!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at The Local in San Diego. Pours brown with some ruby around the edges and a small khaki head. Aroma of chocolate and peanut butter, some light roast, hazelnuts. Flavor follows more hazelnut than peanut bitter, some lightly roasted chocolate, and a nice bitter finish that keeps this from being cloying like other peanut butters I have had. Went well with peanut butter cups the bartender gave me. Relatively light bodied and this came off like a super flavorful but brown. That isn't a bad thing, and this is pretty good. Would have again.

I know this froufrou calamity is probably the antithesis of those hardbarked ales that I love, but this rich, playful, intensely aromatic brew is my Achilles heel. I’m pretty excited about the idea of spooning vanilla ice cream into a mug of this stuff. Dessert valhalla.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. A weird murky brown pour, practically no head. Chocolate, starts with a sharpness which isn’t so great, sweet peanut butter, nuttiness, and sugar. Too candy like, not my thing.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Beachwood BBQ. Very dark brown pour with a tan head. Nice peanut butter aroma. Cocoa, light vanilla, roasted malt, and caramel sweetness. Flavor is a touch bitter from the cocoa nibs, but has a nice vanilla and caramel sweetness. Peanut butter, roasted malt, coffee, and just a hint of licorice.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a deep brown color with a nutty caramel aroma. Taste is roasted nuts mixed with caramel and a hint of peanut butter. A distinct coco flavor throughout, mixed with malt. A decent beer made by reputable Karl Strauss.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask. Pours with a clear, lighter brown hued body with a tan head. Aromas are of vanilla, cocoa, chocolate, leather, a bit nutty and lightly estery. Flavors are chocolatey, mild anise, nutty, earthy, peanut butter. Dusty chocolate character. Earthy cocoa nibs. A bit thin (which is a slight disappointment), low carbonation.

On tap at Press Box in San Diego. Pours a clear amber-orange color with tiny head. Aroma is vanilla and peanut butter. Taste is spot-on for a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup: chocolate and peanut butter. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. No alcohol burn. Really good if you like Reese’s.
