Fresh hops with some fruit in the nose. Deep amber color. Well balanced. Quite drinkable. Like the other Karl Strauss beers, I had this one on a fresh tap in its San Diego home.

On tap at their place in San Diego. Served really cold. Not much aroma. Light white head. Slight caramel and malt flavors. Flavor falls flat. Overall fine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

As soon as I opened this beer, as well as the hiss, there was an immediate surge of resinous hops in my nostrils. Crikey. The body of the beer is orange amber with a puffy white head and another blast of herbal hoppiness when I poke my nose anywhere near the beer. It is strongly reminiscent of green spruce cones and redwood resin. Just glorious. The immediate impressions of the taste is that it isnt as massive as its aroma. It is gently carbonated and then those herbs come through with a slightly sweet stonefruit body but then they return with chlorophyll-like bitterness. I am not in the least disappointed. Itís a good exemplar of its style while retaining its individuality. Itís more herbal than other APAs and delightfully so.

On tap at the San Diego downtown brewpub. It poured a golden color with an off-white head. The aroma was of malt, fruits, caramel, citrus and some bread. The taste was light to medium sweet with fruit and caramel and a nice bitter finish. Decent.

A delightful drink that ticks all the "Pale Ale" boxes. The enticing aroma is backed up with a perfectly balanced body and a restrained bitter finish.

Nice nose and good looking pour. Good hoppiness, grapefruit, some fruity sweetness on the front. Not overly bitter. Crisp. Smooth on the palate. Extremely drinkable pale ale. Not over the top hoppiness or bitterness like IPAs, which allows a more well-rounded enjoyment experience. Would drink this again and again.

"Very solid pale ale, good doses of refreshing citrus with enough malt to balance, but not take over. Like the profile, and itís quite a refreshing beer too."
