Dan Murphys bottle (21-Sep-13) Biggish sweet pine resin aroma. Amber colour, low head and suds lacing. Big sweet pine and herbal flavour. Pine veg hop finish and sweet pineapple aftertaste.

A-- Poured a darker orange amber color. Quite clear and some visible carbonation bubbles. Half finger of off white head. Nice lacing with this. Good sticky ring of lacing. Head holds up quite nice. S-- Pineapple, passion fruit, Lemon, orange, and lime. Good citrus nose. Some caramel backbone but this is very fruit forward. T-- Pine, orange and grapefruit in the taste. Turns to a more herbal variety. Citrus tones get lost in the taste. Not much of a backbone to this. M-- Slight amount of toffee in the feel but not enough to back up the hops. A sort of thin, soapy herbal character to this. A lot of hop bite to this but nothing to sooth it out. Dry, medicinal orange and grapefruit finish. Some resin in the mid palate. Lightly carbonated and medium feel. O-- More body to back this up. Lots of hops in this and could be very nice with a bigger backbone. Would buy again as a pretty well hopped APA.

12 oz bottle from a "summer beers" gift pack someone gave me. Surprisingly good. It’s probably cliche, but this reminded me a lot of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Quaffable, with a fair amount of spicy hops and a good caramel backbone. The kind of beer you could easily throw back 6-7 in your backyard playing horseshoes or somethin’. Only downside was I picked up a little bit of a metallic flavor that was a minor distraction.

From a 355ml bottle on 12/9/2012. Pours a fairly clear dark golden with a tiny head. Has a delightful floral, fruity, perfumey aroma. This is a very flavoursome APA, with caramel and toasty malt, and sweet citrus fruit particularly prominent, with a touch of honey at the back. Better still, it’s quite hop forward, with a touch of IPA-like grapefruit bitterness present. The body is medium and the carbonation spot on. All up, a terrific APA with heaps of character.

355ml bottle. Deep amber with a medium sized off white head that disappears quickly. A solid and sessionable APA with fruity piney malty aromas and flavours with a decent dry hop finish.

Draught. Clear reddish copper with some small white head. Aroma is floral hops with tangy fruit (grapefruit or pineapple). Medium body and carbonation. Flavour starts sweet and fruity (pineapple or grapefruit again) and ends with a pleasant bitter finish. A well balanced pale ale.

On tap at the brewery downtown San DIego. This was one of many on tap that I tasted and thought it was just ok.

KeefOz (833) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - OCT 3, 2012
Poured a translucent orangy amber colour with a thin bubble head that produced a few spots of lacing. Moderate carbonation. Citrus and hops plus some malt that gives a well balanced aroma. Taste has similar citrus to nose but less intense. Hops are pleasant and do not produce much bitterness. Thin body. Pleasant short bitter but smooth finish.

Taste is of citrus, pine resin, tropical fruits, bready sweet malts, and some caramel malts. has a medium body wit nice carbonation, a semi creamy mouthfeel and a dry, semi bitter, yet refreshing finish. overall, a very drinkable, well balaced, and pretty decent tasting pale.
