In a word: lovely. Initially a bit musty aroma-wise, and even BO-like from the bottle which somehow transforms into distinct grapefruit with light tropical tones. Light amber on the pour with adequate carbonation. First sensation on the palate is floral followed quickly by bright orange zest with a very pleasant light bitterness. It’s a grower for sure and would make a great session ale.

on tap. Aroma- nice pine and citrus quality Appearance- golden color Taste- pine and grapefruit hop flavors come through. malt balance comes in at just the right time. bitterness lingers in the finish, pleasantly so. Palate- medium. Overall- very sessionable pale ale. lots of flavor going on. not over powering on the hop side.

Again, great packaging--love the cruiser and beach reference! Amber, color like dark caramel, good head, legs--wraps around the glass; strong flavor with hints of citrus and sweet (flowers), good smooth taste, not too bubbly-fun bubbles!

Calling this American Pale Ale "average" does no justice to the wonderful amalgam of caramel maltiness, light and balanced bitterness, an inviting grassy-citrus hop aroma, and a nicely-carbonated feel. Karl Strauss’ Pintail Pale Ale just works -- it goes down smoothly, leaves a pleasant aftertaste, and is the perfect accompaniment to a nice summer day.

Wow, massive piney hops. This beer is a flavour explosion. I really enjoyed this and am keen to give it another try. Not sure I could drink a heap of these at any one time, but would really enjoy a couple every now and then. Tasty beer

Excellent pale ale. Great amber color. Smooth balanced hops aroma and flavor. Full bodied but easy to drink several over the course of the night. Smooth finish without overpowering hops in the end. My favorite San Diego Pale Ale.

Such a good beer! The color is really nice and rich for a pale ale. The flavors are nice and sweet, yum!
