3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Catamaran Resort. Light amber pour, small off-white head. Big citrus hops in the aroma, nice and fresh smelling, with some malt. Flavor has more malt profile, with grain. Overall very light, easy to drink.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
At just on cool and into a straightwall. There is pine resin, heavily caramelised fruit, rubber and a note of tart berries on the nose. No head; a brilliant amber it produced with fine effervescence. Doughy and a little soapy and underlyingly plastic on the palate. Quenching fruit comes through, as some toffee malts, burnt toast and otherwise bready notes. Piney finish but lapsed in bitterness. Easily quaffable and I don’t know why. Is it odd as this is just another APA!? (12fl.Oz, BB 30/04/13, Dan Murphy’s Currambine)

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear amber with a white head that lasts and laces. Aroma of kumquat, grapefruit, a little peach, pine. Thinnish body, rather dull mouthfeel. Not much malt presence, some caramel. Sharpish citrus, dry bitter finish is a bit herbal too. Not enough to support the hops for me.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2012 medium copper with almost no head. Floral hops aroma with spicy hop flavor balanced by the malt. A solid pale ale
(re-rate / cask at San Diego downtown location) fluffy head. Nice hops aroma. Great cask mouthfeel.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Nose is sweet olives, citrus, and grassblades. Taste is bitter, grassy, and slightly spicy. Soft mouthfeel. Meh.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
[Bottle] Golden amber hue, modest head formation. Citrussy hop, mild caramel aroma. Citrussy lemon and grapefruit from start to finish, malt is minimal making for a rather light body. Decent light, hoppy pale ale.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pretty good beer overall, really. And I was surprised to get it on the other side of the planet, for me that is. Poured at a good temperature, with a thick, off-white foamy,semi-pemanent head, and lots of lace. Color is a clear, medium, honey amber. Aroma is at first honey caramel, then pine and citrus. Flavor’s like nose, fresh, tasty, (apparently it traveled well) and not too heavy in any area. Body/carbonation are excellent! Finish is like flavor and is super drinkable. I like it the more I drink it.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Created a small layer of film for a head while the liquid was a sparkling golden honey color. My nose detects a decent amount of hops with scent of citrus and the signature Karl Strauss malts. The flavor is sort of bland and boring with only a minimal presence of bitter hops but with a bigger taste of sweetness attributed to the caramel like malts. Also, the malt gives off a bready flavor that balances out well with the floral hops that have a notice of honey or flowers.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a perfect little beer. At 5.3 it’s still abundantly flavorful and with thin but strong wave of dry hopping. Despite the abundant hop character it’s not "balanced" by sweetness in a way that mars the texture with sticky sugars. It goes down very easily and yet still makes a contribution to Thai food, fish tacos, burgers and salads. This is the best beer I’ve had all week. I’m not kidding.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very little noticable hops, a weak pale ale, even for an American Style. Malty, wheaty, and somewhat spicy.
