3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours hazy orange amber with a small off-white head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is caramel and pine. Flavor is about the same, light to medium sweet and light bitter. Fairly standard for the style. Medium body, somewhat creamy.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear amber with a white head that lasts and laces. Aroma of kumquat, grapefruit, a little peach, pine. Thinnish body, rather dull mouthfeel. Not much malt presence, some caramel. Sharpish citrus, dry bitter finish is a bit herbal too. Not enough to support the hops for me.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very little noticable hops, a weak pale ale, even for an American Style. Malty, wheaty, and somewhat spicy.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Created a small layer of film for a head while the liquid was a sparkling golden honey color. My nose detects a decent amount of hops with scent of citrus and the signature Karl Strauss malts. The flavor is sort of bland and boring with only a minimal presence of bitter hops but with a bigger taste of sweetness attributed to the caramel like malts. Also, the malt gives off a bready flavor that balances out well with the floral hops that have a notice of honey or flowers.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a perfect little beer. At 5.3 itís still abundantly flavorful and with thin but strong wave of dry hopping. Despite the abundant hop character itís not "balanced" by sweetness in a way that mars the texture with sticky sugars. It goes down very easily and yet still makes a contribution to Thai food, fish tacos, burgers and salads. This is the best beer Iíve had all week. Iím not kidding.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle from Bev4less. Pours a copper color with a small white head that soon recedes to a fine ring. The aroma is soft with sweet malts and mild hops. The flavor is biter and sweet with pine resins and caramel malts working in a nice balance. The palate was just a bit light, and the carbonation was lively. Finishes short and clean. Overall: A good everyday ale.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On draft at Columbia Street brewpub. Pours a clear, deep amber color with a thin off-white head that leaves some spotty lace. Aroma is dominated by hops with some toasty malts evident as well. Flavor is very briefly of toasty malts, then become all about the hops, citrus, grapefruit and pine notes abound, with a slight spiciness in the finish - hoppy indeed and somewhat unbalanced to this beer lover. Medium body and cripsy carbonation. Overall this is a just above average brewpub beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Karl Strauss Carlsbad. Brown amber color. Lots of hop bitterness. Nice clean grassy hoppy aroma. Very nuce. Karl Strauss keeps getting better and better. I think several of the staff are getting heavier into brewing, attending QUAFF, etc, which is helping the beer quality.
