Beautiful aroma of fruit, quite darkish colour with a minimal head. Nice flavoursome taste with a bitter finish. Drank from tall glass from 355 ml bottles from Dan Murphys Highbury.

Honestly I struggle to see how this beer is rated as low as it is on here (to commercial for the hipsters?), this has become one of my go-to pale ales. Compared to other APA’s available in Australia in a comparable price range I reckon it’s hard to beat. The current batch I’m rating pours a golden, slightly amber colour with what I believe to be the perfect carbonation level for an APA, fluffy pillowy head dissipating slowly and leaving a goo bit of lacing, when poured at the right temp. The nose is brilliant; the dry hoped Amarillo really shines through when fresh. The taste is great, All the stone fruit, citrus and pine you would expect from this hop combo (Cascade, Newport and Amarillo) and I don’t get any metallic or off flavours at all. I’ve had this beer less fresh than this batch and got a bit of oxidation and the hops had faded a bit but was still a great beer. Overall a very clean drinking, true to style, hop forward APA. I think a lot of the local Aussie so-called craft breweries could learn from this one. Also the fact that it comes in a six-pack instead of four pack is a big bonus for me and still cheaper than the local equivalents? I have a real problem with the recent Aussie trend of selling craft beer in four packs, 18 - 22 buck for a four pack? Moo, Feral, Balmain, Murray’s.

Piney hoppy aroma. Pours clear copper with a foamy white head. Bitter flavor mellows out to a smooth finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pretty good beer overall, really. And I was surprised to get it on the other side of the planet, for me that is. Poured at a good temperature, with a thick, off-white foamy,semi-pemanent head, and lots of lace. Color is a clear, medium, honey amber. Aroma is at first honey caramel, then pine and citrus. Flavor’s like nose, fresh, tasty, (apparently it traveled well) and not too heavy in any area. Body/carbonation are excellent! Finish is like flavor and is super drinkable. I like it the more I drink it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a bottle into a tumbler. A rich amber toffee colour with a small head that very quickly dissipates leaving some lacing. On the nose it has tropical fruit aromas and some piney resin hops, a very pleasant smelling apa. Taste is not as bitter as expected with nice malt and pleasant mouthfeel. Overall very sessionable and refreshing.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle in San Diego. Light, refreshing and a bit tame. Touch of caramel malt and decent body. Grassy herbal hops for flavor. Seems like this is made a little more for a wider audience as opposed to an earth shattering ipa experience. Drinkable but so many other options in SD.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a golden clear yellow with a foamy white head. Medium carbonation, aromas of citrus and pine. Initial malt flavour balanced well with grapefruit bitterness. Finishing hops deliver a slight citrus peel flavour that is pleasant on the tongue. Very delicious

Drank from bottle. Very flavorful, hoppy, refreshing and balanced. Plenty of citrus notes and some bitterness to keep the finish crisp. A good sessional beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
In a word: lovely. Initially a bit musty aroma-wise, and even BO-like from the bottle which somehow transforms into distinct grapefruit with light tropical tones. Light amber on the pour with adequate carbonation. First sensation on the palate is floral followed quickly by bright orange zest with a very pleasant light bitterness. It’s a grower for sure and would make a great session ale.
