I also assume that this is the "Star of India Pale Ale". Orange color, citrusy scent. Was hoppy with a bit of citrus taste. Mild for an IPA, but good. My favorite of their beers.

Fresh hops with some fruit in the nose. Deep amber color. Well balanced. Quite drinkable. Like the other Karl Strauss beers, I had this one on a fresh tap in its San Diego home.

Clear golden with a fizzy white head. Faint malty and citrus hops aroma. Crisp earthy metallic and grain taste.

Bottle, via trade with LTDan, clear hazelnut brown with soft white foam, hoppy caramel aroma with light sweat, flavor is soft hops and caramel with some malt on the finish

Tap at PP Carlsbad. Light amber pour, small off-white head. Grassy citrus hops in the aroma, nice and fresh smelling, with some malt. Flavor has more malt profile, with bread and grain. Overall very light, easy to drink, but much like water. Meh.

From a tap poured an amber color with a fair amount of head. Nice hoppy flavor with a lingering finish.

12 oz bottle from Bev4less. Pours a copper color with a small white head that soon recedes to a fine ring. The aroma is soft with sweet malts and mild hops. The flavor is biter and sweet with pine resins and caramel malts working in a nice balance. The palate was just a bit light, and the carbonation was lively. Finishes short and clean. Overall: A good everyday ale.

On tap at the brew outlet on Columbia St, San Diego on 18th March 2014. Came a clear reddy amber/golden colour with a full head. Hops rule the brew here, citrus and floral in both the nose and taste. Uncomplicated and refreshing, suited the alcohol level: didn’t try to knock you over with hops and booze, just a pleasant brew.

Bottle with Dad. Pours golden orange with a foamy off-white head, a good looking APA. Some nice peach and orange, floral notes in the nose but a lot of caramel malt. Taste is medium sweet, nice peach and citrus, but again a lot of caramel malt. Quite an old bottle will try it again fresh to get the full potential. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of grapefruit, lemon, orange zest, caramel malty background. Taste is bitter hoppy, sweaty, minimally fruity hoppy, caramel malty background with hints of almond; unbalanced at first sip, later more reconciliatory with an accumulation of citrusy lemon flavours and a cleaner caramel malty basis, minimally soapy nevertheless.
