Bottle, shared with my wife over lunch at the San Diego Zoo. I love that craft beer has become so relevent that I can buy it at a zoo cafeteria. Burnt orange colour, decent off-white head. Piney and fruity hops are backed by lightly toasty caramel malts. Nice bitterness. It was 93 degrees today, and this really hit the spot.

pours a reddish amber with a small off white head with some lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, sweet bready malts, and some caramel. Taste is of citrus, pine resin, tropical fruits, bready sweet malts, and some caramel malts. has a medium body wit nice carbonation, a semi creamy mouthfeel and a dry, semi bitter, yet refreshing finish. overall, a very drinkable, well balaced, and pretty decent tasting pale.

From tap at the brewpub in Carlsbad. Pours clear and golden orange with a fully diminished white head. Peachy and mild orange fruity hops aroma, quite inviting. Dry hoppy grapefruit flavour with a mild peachy flavour following. Starts solid bitter but goes lovely fruity into the finish. Nice one.

On tap at La Jolla location Karl Strauss. Pours deep gold with a nearly copper core and white head. The aroma is big with a dose of pine, grassiness and hints of grapefruit hops. Smells great. The mouth feel seems thin throughout. The taste begins with fresh grapefruit juice hop flavor and bitterness followed by a mild pulse of pine hop bitterness and faint malty sweetness. The watery-ness of the beer is a bit distracting. Very enjoyable. Maybe I was expecting much less.

12 oz bottle from a "summer beers" gift pack someone gave me. Surprisingly good. It’s probably cliche, but this reminded me a lot of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Quaffable, with a fair amount of spicy hops and a good caramel backbone. The kind of beer you could easily throw back 6-7 in your backyard playing horseshoes or somethin’. Only downside was I picked up a little bit of a metallic flavor that was a minor distraction.

This is a nice APA. Very hoppy citrus nose. A light reddish orange appearance. It actually reminds me alot of the Stargazer IPA, maybe a tad hoppier on the flavor. Very pleasant drinkable hoppiness. Like alot of other KS beers, this one could be fine for session drinking.

Damn, forgot to enter this...12oz. bottle
Appearance: Pours a clear amber orange with a retaining thin cap of head.
Aroma: A nice hoppy aroma featuring herbal and citrus notes.
Taste: Bitterness, citrus, and a bite of salty caramel.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, slightly juicy and moderate carbonation.
Overall: A very solid APA that I think most would enjoy. It isn’t as crisp as most California Pale Ales, but the malt backbone will make this much more approachable to folks who don’t care for a Sierra Nevada type of APA.

Very strong aroma from bottle. Pours a dark orange with good head. Very much has citrus flavours associated with US pale ales.
