Tap. Murky brown pour with minimal head. Aromas are roasty, currents, barrel, tart fruit, earthy. Flavored are strongly but cleanly tart, lactic, some barrel, quite estery, dark fruit, barrel tannins. Cleanly sour, medium carbonation, quite thin.

Appearance: very dark maroon color, almost black unless you hold it up to the light, no head on this restaurant pour
Aroma: sour, smoky, red wine, spicy, subtle but good
Taste: very sour, tart, red wine but it's very subtle, delicious sourness
Palate: leaves mouth dry, average carbonation, lighter mouthfeel
Overall: pretty delicious, very sour and tart, lacks complexity is my only knock but I'd drink this very often if I could get it at home, tasted from draft at Karl strauss brew pub

Draft. Dark brown pour, almost black, with a small tan head. Chocolate, vinegar, sweet red cherries, roasted malt, and light bourbon barrel character. I’m not a fan of sour stouts, this one was ok.

Pours very dark brown with a small khaki head. Nose is quite vinegary. Some bourbon, oak, and a mild malt sweetness. There’s a bit of sour cherry, grass, and roasted malt. The flavor is quite similar. Roasted malt, wood, mild bourbon, molasses, and a fair amount of balsamic and red wine vinegar. Body is kind of thin and carbonation is a bit low.
