9/11/14 tall, skinny pint glass at Nicky Rotten's, Coronado Island, San Diego, CA. Barely an aroma. No head. Deep red color. A fine, drinkable, session beer but very boring an non-descript. Barely roasted malt flavor. Next time pass and try something new. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Caramel, roasty, woody, nuty. Great beer for everybody. Never met anyone that did not like this Amber colored irish ale of awesomeness. If ur just New and have tried pales, blondes and are ready for reds, ambers....... This is the stuff right here. Especially if u find yourself in ocean beach at hoedads. The best burger and I think best irish ale put together is a speechles tear to the eye. YYYEEESSS!

355mL bottle Clean copper body, small off-white head persists. Mild aroma; toasted nuts, dark toffee, bit of bread and dried fruit. Medium body, light carbonation, has a slight chewy texture to it. Palate delivers plenty of nutty, caramels, sweet upfront, drying towards a finish with a bit of spice, raisin & moderate bitterness. Pretty tasty, rather drinkable.

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2014 Pours a nice clear amber color with a white head. Aroma of toasted nuts, sweet malt, and caramel. Flavor matches aroma, very low bitterness, sweet caramel malt with toasted nuts.

Red, malty, dark caramel flavor without being obnoxious. Sweetness under control. I thought the aroma was similar. Slightly nutty, mild bitterness.

Little in the way of aroma. A nice red color. Super malty flavor. Balanced and non descript.

On tap at the brewpub. Pour was fine red-brown color with excellent clarity and a semi-durable beige head that leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma: appealing mix of caramel and baked brown bread. Flavor: good but simple flavor. Excellent bitter/sweet balance. Feel: medium-light body wih crisp, near medium carbonation. O: well-crafted if not particularly exceptional Irish Red.

22oz bottle - Nothing extraordinary about this beer, but nothing to complain about either. A solid of an amber ale as you’re gonna find. Aroma is a bit sweet, lightly nutty but very, very light. Flavor finds some spicy notes, light bitterness and sweetness to meld with the touch of spice. It has a bit of a mineral-like mouthfeel. Solid amber. Great price.

Tapped at Karl Strauss at the Universal Studios in Los Angeles. This was a malty malty malty beer. Aroma of sweet malts, fruits and some strawberry marmalade. Amber color, head vanished in no time but kept a tiny cover. Taste was again sweet malt plus some bitter dark fruits. Overall a tasty beer but too much malt due to its style for me.
