3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours ruby/copper with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows caramel, bready malt, faint cocoa and a misplaced doughy note.
Better flavours, with strong nutty, bready and caramel notes throughout, followed by a mild bitterness.
Body seems pretty watery. Too much carbonation.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I shared this with Strykzone via Facebook Chat. It poured a reddish amber with a big off-white head and light lacing .Nose of dark ripe fruit. and lightly roasted malts Medium body. Mild carbonation. The flavor is caramel malts with little hops. Finish is dry. Seems like an amber to me, and not my favorite style.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
At just on cool and into a shaker. Radiant ruby red body that sparkles in the light. No visible carbonation sees the already fragile, frothed up head disappear altogether. Nose has hints of twiggy bark, roasted nuts, sultanas and bitter/sweet raisins all doused sticky, salted caramel. Sweet, sweet, sweeeeeeeeeet! First mouthful is teeth rattling with the ’toffee brittle’ of my youth springing to mind. Treacle and tannic sweet wine, light rust and grain husks dance amongst the toffeeish malts. There is a lively spritz by that otherwise invisible carbonation. Body is light but the cloying sweetness gives the illusion of something bigger. Bitter, sweet and astringent swallow tails off into the land of rusted metal. Starts off great guns but is downhill from there. It is drinkable, but my blood sugar levels just sprang up a few points!! (12fl.Oz, BBE 02/13, Dan Murphy’s Currambine)

2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
No head as it pours from the bottle, indicated low carbonation.
Lacks any bouquet but the Amber hue was different and its caramelized hop flavour flowed through nicely. Much like drinking pop corn. I’d like to try this again, pulled off a tap though.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours rich amber with low level carbonation and a thin head. Hints of toffee and roasted crystal malt. Flavours of caramelized toffee and bready malts dominate proceedings here with some low level ester. Very easy drinking.

Bottle. Deep red brown pour, dissipating off-white head. Malty, watery, something almost metallic in the aftertaste. Not much on the nose, however. Medium (barely) body. It’s okay.

Bottled. Malty caramel nose, earthy, chocolate. Nice malt flavor, chocolate and caramel, very rich and rounded with fruit and a good level of sweetness. Bready. Nice and drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Received in a trade from Hayduke. We shared a bottle via facebook chat. This beer was clear and coppery with a nice head. A rich malty nose that says Irish. A big malty flavor profile that is also grassy and swampy. Light fruit and nuts. Alcohol is also tasted and should not be. Some Graham crackers. Almost no carbonation. Nothing exciting here in a style that is rarely great.

Reddish amber. Nutty aromatics. Medium bodied, straightforward red ale. Nutty malts, but somewhat thin. Could use more hops to create some complexity. Medium finish.
