3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a copper red with a small off white head. Aroma is of toasted sweet malts, toffee, caramel, and some light fruit notes. Flavor is similar with a lot of sweet malts, toasted bread, caramel, toffee, and raisins, and some light hops. Has a medium-light body with a slightly watery mouthfeel and a semi dry, mostly sweet, medium finish. Overall, a slightly above average beer that is good for the style and is pretty sessionable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a Bronze-Red colour.
Aroma’s of mainly caramel and sultana’s.
Taste. Definitely can taste the Caramel as others have stated, but also notice Black liquorice flavours along with a slight currant flavour, almost no hop flavours but it does finish with a slight bitterness.
Palate. This is quite thick and a little syrupy in the mouth.
Overall. This is a beer that delivers a nice sweetness, yet isn’t too sweet and has no off flavours.
This beer would be very good with sticky date pudding and other desserts.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Asahiya. Buttery toffee aroma, some prune, too. Reddish-brown color, with thin head. Malty, cherries in initial; mid sweetens up more; final maxes out the sweetness to cherry cough drops. Thin-medium body. A bit flat. Overall, quite pleasant. The cherry notes certainly dominate.

Not the sort of beer I would normally drink, but I had heard good things and wanted to give it a try. A beautiful colour, with what I thought was dark caramel/brown sugar aroma. Much the same on the taste, caramel and toffee. A much lighter body than I was expecting. Not a bad beer for a change of pace, I could only drink one of these though, not sessionable in my opinion at all.
