3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
As with most beers it is better on tap, this one suffers a bit much in the bottle. great red color. the flavor is very well balacened so that a taster can focus on either the hops or the malt and then the various subflavors involved with each.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2003 Nice ruddy color. Pretty malty. However, there was something about this brew that did not sit well with me, however. The floral notes at the finish were not balanced enough with the malts.

Pours red-brown with off-white head. Nose is bready. Well balanced malt on the tongue with some spicy hops. Chestnut and wheat notes drive this beer. Home. Not bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
served cold from tap. pours a nice amber, reddish color, with a good white head, and generous lacing. aroma is sweet, malty. flavor is pretty good, some hops but fairly mellow and easy to drink. it wasn’t a bad beer, but it was the best thing that they had on tap at the restaurant, so i gave it a shot.

On draft at Karl Strauss Universal City, 11/26/07. Medium to dark amber. Nice head. No aroma. Somewhat malty and sweet, though not cloying. Not much hop character. Ultra clean finish. Bland.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I’ll have to be generous on this one given the tasting circumstances. Poured from a truck-side tap in Disneyland (California Adventures Park) into a green plastic cup and costing almost eight dollars. Difficult to discern the color through the neon yellow cup but i assume it was red and clear, no head present. Aroma was pleasant caramel and dried dark red fruits. Minimal hop bite, caramel and light fruit dominates to flavor. Body is relatively light with carbonation that is soft and smoothly effervescent. I’ll have to try this again in the proper glassware.

Pours a dark amber. Smells of caramelized malts. Has a mild caramel taste which doesn’t last.

Bottle. Deep red brown pour, dissipating off-white head. Malty, watery, something almost metallic in the aftertaste. Not much on the nose, however. Medium (barely) body. It’s okay.
