Smells malty with a hint of caramel. This has a bit more hops from the start than the first three of the sampler. Some light caramel that sticks to the front of your gums. Decent stuff.

22 ounce thanks to JohnCoctosin. Red colored body. Caramel and sugar. Nice malty aroma. Sweetness really carries this one.

Location: On tap at the SD Airport, 1/9/10

Aroma: This beer has lots of caramel malts and bread on the nose
Appearance: Dark reddish color with a head that leaves a lot of lace
Flavor: Taste is mostly sweet caramel malts and mild bitterness in the finish
Palate: Medium bodied and pretty drinkable with a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: This beer was alright, it helped me kill some time in an airport. I’d drink it again, but I certainly wouldn’t suggest going out of the way for it. The real impression I have recorded in my notes is that is has a big caramel malt feel.

Tap at Carlsbad. Pours a translucent copper amber with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of toffee, nuts, light citrus and caramel. Flavor of the same. Moderate hop bitterness.

22 ounce bottle from JohnCoctosin, poured a red copper color, can’t really describe the beer better than its description. For once a description is on par to the actual beer, good in summer heat.

Buttery diacetyl smell. Clear copper, thin yellow head. Like the Karl Strauss Pin tail I sampled immediately before this one, the flavor of tea dominates. Perhaps my glass didn’t get a good rinse. Clover and honey remains on the palate.

Pours a ruddy reddish orange with one finger of sandstone head. Herbal nose with lots of bready notes and malt dominance. Flavor is the same. Medium body and bitterness.

A clear deep copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was of light caramel and a hint of citrus. The flavor was citrus over a caramel malt base with some fruits mixed in. Citrusy finish. Very light on the bitterness.

Draught from Disney California Adventure Park. A very deep bronzed copper colour with as all light tan head. Good flavour with plenty of caramel flavours with hints of butterscotch.
