SD trip, Karl Strauss LaJolla, sampler, had these while having a larger DIPA, flavors and ratings may be rough: Reddish brown; weak nose and even weaker flavor, really bland.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A very nice red. Pours a dark amber color, with a small among of tan head. Smells great, lots of vanilla. Taste is similar, refreshing, not too hoppy, fruit and vanilla. One of the better reds I've had. Had at tap at the Bay Area Craft Beer Festival

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours reddish copper. Aroma is surprisingly bitter forward with the malt being the secondary and last thing you smell. Taste is a complete 180 -- all malt sweetness and very muted overall flavor. Decent session beer.
