JorisPPattyn (4258), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 24, 2008 Draught. Served ice cold in a frosted glass... Red-brown with small yellowish rim. Malts, and very little else, seen the temperature. Roasted malts, some bitterness with slight retronasal sweetness, which continues growing warming up, pastry flavours. Medium bodied at best. Horrible presentation for a beer that isn’t all that great to start with...
yespr (6000), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap at the brewpub in Carlsbad. Pours cloudy hazzlenut brown with a lacing white head. Dry and malty aroma. Caramel malty and dry flavour. Slight breadish. Medium dry and mild bitter finish. K8 (1), Pittsburgh, USA does not count Jul 3, 2008 I had this for the first time in San Diego. I am not usually a fan of ale, but this immediately caught my attention. The first taste reminded me of a stout with a burned, warm flavor, but with a very clean finish. I wish they sold this one in PA. BOLTZ7555 (417), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 28, 2008 Biscuit and mild sweetness...with a crimson body and extremely small head. Just wasn’t impressed by anything from this brewery...but the food was pretty damn good!!! BMan1113VR (708), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jun 17, 2008 On tap at Universal City location. Aroma of currants, some alcohol, a bit of caramel and maybe some smoke or scotch. Pours with an off-white head with some lacing over an amber body. Taste is of soggy malts. Its too fizzy and a bit harsh. Oscbert (219), Sacramento, California, USA Jun 13, 2008 ~Pours a copper color with small head.
~Light malty scent. Not much else.
~Sweet and biscuity with a bit of bitterness.
