COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

Idiosynkrasie (4905) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUN 15, 2015
355ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Hoppy aroma with fruity hints of mango and peach, a herbal touch. Taste is bitter hoppy, hints of mango and peach, a slightly mineral and chalky touch. Not a gamete of the world-wide IPA dissemination.

Fashawn (430) - Montesarchio, ITALY - JUN 11, 2015
Molto ben fatta. Carbonatazione ai minimi termini, liscia, ben bilanciata.

355 ml bottle. BBE 06.01.2016.
Pours clear golden color with a large white head. Piney, grassy aroma, mandarin and orange peel too, floral hops and faint resin. Grapefruity, citric flavor, subtle caramel sweetness, some hops, pale malts and distant toffee notes. Juicy fruitiness on the aftertaste. Very easy to drink, a decent juicy IPA.

Vycap Camel, Shanghai. Tmavsia zlata farba, biela pena. Vona sladka, citrusova, chmelova. V chuti stredne plne a ovocne telo, citrusove a grapefruitove tony. V pozadi trosku prazdnejsi dojazd, ale prijemne horky.

(bottle, 12oz). Aroma: nice hoppy nose, can smell the Cascade hops. grapefruit. A bit herbally/soapy. Appearance: good looking beer. Medium amber in color (a bit lighter than expected). Light head that does linger and holds on to the glass. Quite bitter. Flavors of hops, grass. Creamy and oily on the palate. An above average IPA. Good points: Hoppy nose. Areas for improvement: More complexity in flavors. It seemed to be mostly a bitter beer with green/grass/herb flavor and hard to discern much else.

Bottle code 12:04, 0705. Light body, crispy malts like a weak pale ale. Light hops, some pine, lemon citrus. Not too much flavor going on. Clean brew. Bland, would not recommend to someone expecting a typical West Coast IPA from San Diego, put in same class of a Red Hook IPA.

This was example of another IPA flooding the market that doesn’t match my standards for an IPA. It wasn’t nearly hoppy enough, lacked bitterness and tasted more like a Pale ale. Perhaps it was disadvantaged by the fact it was being tasted while at a bar with 250 beers and I was working my way through a few but that’s when the top beers stand out.
