COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

Appearance was a clearer orange with a medium head. Nose was pleasant and florally hoppy. The taste was smooth and hoppy but not overwhelmingly bitter. A nice daily drinking IPA. Glad I was in LA and happend to try it.

Draught. Clear copper with slight white head. Subtle but nice floral hop aroma. Medium body and carbonation. Flavour starts with caramel smoothly moving to a decent bitter finish. Nicely balanced, easy drinking IPA.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2012 Initial rating: 30th Mar, 2010. On tap at the Karl Strauss Restaurant/Bar at Universal City. Served in a typical tumbler glass this beer presents orange with a less than average head. Aroma is floral and citric; quite pleasant. Carbonation is less than expected, however this allows the yeast profile to shine through too much in my opinion. There is an acceptable amount of bitterness to this beer, however the yeast aftertaste present does not leave a satisfying finish. Would try this beer again in the bottle instead, but not in a hurry. Re-Rate 5th Oct. 2012. Bottle from dans. bb June 2013. Decent off white head and resilient lace. Floral, citrus and pine aromas with a touch of grain. Medium-high carbonation, medium body - lightly chewy malts with a generous bitterness on the finish. Just like the tap example, the lingering yeasty veg remains amongst of touch of toast and toffee. A bit better in the bottle.

Tap at airport. Bright orange with thick lasting white head. Nose is grassy and pine resin hips with some malt sweetness. Flavor is bread malts up front with modest hop bitterness and low pine hop flavor, finishes dry and bitter. Medium body and carbonation, slick texture. A very standard west coast IPA with decent bitterness but underwhelming hop flavors, still quite drinkable in a pinch!

A solid IPA. It pours golden orange with an off white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, and pine. The flavor is piney with some peach and grapefruit notes. I liked this as a nice beer enjoyed at the Long Beach, CA airport.

Reddish-orange in color with a white foamy head and a noticable but not overpowering hop aroma. Good bitter, citrusy hop presence balanced by a smooth malty body. Definitely an IPA but not an overpowering one by any means. Good food-friendly IPA from a great brewery!

Pours orange with white head, aroma is light citrusy hops. Taste up front is citrus and piny hops with some biscuity sweetness and a nice bitter finish.
