2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
"a biscuit malt forward ipa that is not quite what i was goin for. thought it was the citrus hopped Stargazer IPA and bought a sixer by mistake. well made for what it is i suppose, but the hops need to have a bigger role. Pretty weak even brewery fresh."

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours cloudy orange to golden color with a minimal head. Aroma is malt, caramel, oranges. Taste is rather dry and crisp, thin malt body. Bitterness is above medium, rather broad and long lasting. Perfect carbonation. Good IPA, but the malt body is lacking a bit.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy appearance with a small white head, heavy floral aroma, very hoppy, powerful tropical fruit flavours, medium body, tangy fruity sensation in the mouth followed by a good lingering bitter aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355mL bottle BB 03/2015
Looks the part - firm inch off dense white foam atop a slightly hazy pale gold body.
Nose has a good hop hit too - pine, pineapple, melon, citrus, woody spice, with an underlying toasty malt.
Full bodied, moderate carbonation, good weight - not too heavy for strength.
Upfront malt sweetness accompanied by some toasty bready notes, abrupty followed by big notes of pine, grass, orange rind, and unripe tropical fruit hops. Firm, lingering bitterness on a dry finish.
A decent IPA - plenty of flavour, reasonable balance.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap in Paradise Pier, California Adventure park. Colour...cloudy apricot-amber with a thick off white head. Nose...lightly hoppy with a lean towards dusty, citrusy hops. Palate...a quick burst of hop cone, followed by citrus zest, hop cone and dry earth. The mid palate is slightly cloying but still pleasant and plenty bitter. Iím pleased to see that Disney Corporate has decided to allow beer sales in CA Adventure. Theyíll even let you wander though the park with your beer. Thereís us a price, however; $8 per pint excl. tax. Sometimes ya just gotta pay, but thatís ok!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tapped at Karl Strauss at the Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Wonderul aroma of exotic hops and much citrus. Color was light golden, white head, vanished quickly but kept a a tiny level. Taste was refreshing, a good malt basis plus a lot of bitter citrus mango leeches hops. After a 4 hour walk through the Universal Studios this was an excellent beer!

Best IPA I have had in a while. One of the few "true IPSs" around these days, other than from Britain. Itís a traditional style IPA, which might explain the low ratings on here. I doubt most hipsters or American beer drinkers would know what a classic IPA is supposed to taste like. You can tell right away from the carbonation and the pale color.
This is no "American Style IPA" but rather the classic style IPA. Which surprises the heck out of me coming from San Diego. Glad at least one American brewery had the cajones to go with the classic rather then trendy/modern style. hatís off to them for that. I donít want to speculate too much, but I would bet the brewmaster knew his English IPAs well.
