Bottle from Dan Murphy’s. Great balance. Aromas of caramel, grass, and citrus. Taste is sweet and bitter, well balanced and long. Palate is velvety and dry, medium-full bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 arrogantb (1398) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 10, 2012
I got this in a trade thanks to Metallitone1, appreciate it! Orange color with good head and lacing. It smells a little citrusy but nothing overwhelming in the hops department. The flavor has a decent bitterness and a citrus hop flavor but it all felt overshadowed by a strange "old" malt flavor that I could not get past. I was glad for the opportunity and would live to try this fresh on tap but this bottle was nothing to write home about.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 asheft (2264) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 27, 2012
[on tap at Napa Rose, Disneyland]
Citrusy and slightly spicy hops aroma with some caramel. Clear amber under a lasting, off-white cover. Potent west coast hops flavour with sweet caramel and gentle bitterness that thankfully doesn’t numb your tongue. Delicate, for an IPA. Medium body, medium carbonation, sweet and slightly bitter finish.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 lusikka (4046) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 17, 2012
355 ml bottle. Rated on 16.10.2012.
Pours a copper orange colour without a head. Aroma of grains, metals and some fruitiness. Flavour of harsh grainy malts, grassy hops, metals and some alcohol. Harsh on the palate with a bitter grainy finish. Alcohol comes through in the finish as well. Not very good.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Jesterdeal (1045) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - OCT 8, 2012
Aroma of pine, almost an oaky vanilla, and an orange citrus. Pours orange and frothy like a solid IPA. Taste is smooth citrus and slight grass. Too much malt makes this light but lame. Not.impressed.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mansquito (2506) - Nueva York, New York, USA - OCT 7, 2012
Some liquor store in San Diego: Pours a darkish orange with a white head. Aroma is rather nice and is better than the taste. Taste is earthy and piny, with less citrus than I would have expected. I also found that the sugar seemed to be a little bit unbalanced, as this beer was a bit too sweet. Hops are not sufficiently bitter and hardcore.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 tomhenderson (163) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 16, 2012
12 oz bottle in San Diego. Pours a beautiful orange with solid 1/2 inch rocky off-white head. It collapses into a persistent film that hangs around throughout. Aroma is typical of a mainstream "hoppy" IPA with its somewhat citrus + pine resin hoppiness along with wafts of sweet caramel malt base. Taste is pretty similar with that mainstream bitterness-offsets-sweet-malt nature. Nothing special although it’s a lot better than many others I’ve tasted; still, it falls well short of what it could be. It would be so much better if it had more of a prominent citrus aroma, but I’m left wanting. This bottle has a unique metallic flavor that’s rather unpleasant in the final aftertaste. Not a bad example but there are many other west coast examples that I’d rather go for.

Bomber poured a clear orange amber with a lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of crackers, floral notes orange zest, light grapefruit and light pine. Palate was light bodied and crisp., Flavors of biscuit, floral notes, earthiness, grapefruit and light pine with a crisp lingering bitter finish.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Jado (253) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - SEP 4, 2012
330 ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with a one-finger white head. Pine resin and flowers on the nose. The taste is dominated by hops as you might expect. Good malt backbone underlies pine and citrus flavours. Assertive bitterness typical of the style is present but doesn’t overwhelm. Dry finish but a slightly sweet fruity aftertaste lingers. Fine example of a West Coast IPA.
