4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is possibly Karl Strauss’ BEST publicly-available offering. It’s a well-balanced San Diego-style IPA with perfect hoppiness combined with a mild alcohol feel and light refreshing malt tones which linger just long enough to make you thirsty for another sip. There are overlying subtleties of nuts, toast, roasty, resin, grass and herbs, This is a well-done IPA from a great German-style brewer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma shows a very pleasant lemon hoppy aroma, the palate is very clean, light. Shows great length, but all the while drying, which encourages you to the next mouthful. Very enjoyable and easy to drink.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a light golden-orange color with a big billowy head of fizzy white foam. The head fades rather quickly, leaving a light level of bubbly lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strong of a floral and pine hop nature with a great showing of a bready smell. Along with these aromas comes some lighter notes of a more citrus hop smell as well as some light earthy hop smells. A hint of a caramel and light fruit aroma are there as well, giving a rather nice and balanced, somewhat drier IPA smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and slightly doughy taste mixed with a little bit of a caramel taste as well as some flavors of a light fruit nature. The hop is very light upfront, with it only having a little bit of a grapefruit citrus taste. As the taste moves on, more and more hop comes to the tongue with a surge in the citrus, but also a coming of some pine and herbal hop tastes. The pine ends up surpassing the grapefruit hop at the end, and with a coming of some earthy hop tastes, one is left with a rather pleasant semi-dry, but rather flavorful hopped flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer on the average to slightly thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is slightly below average to average. Overall the feel was pretty decent as it was thick enough for the dank hop, with the carbonation all while supporting the malt and sweet nicely.
Overall – A quite easy drinking and semi-drier IPA with a bit of a more piney and dank taste. Overall fairly nice.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy golden with small off white head. Aroma of resinous and grapefruit hops. Light body, resinous and grapefruit hop bitterness, not much malt notes, and a bitter finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours slightly hazy amber (although it looked almost yellow when the beer was gushing out the bottle), head is nice, stays long and leaves beautiful lacings. Aroma has some grainy malts there but is definitely hoppy. Oil, pine and resins also there, something lager-like too. No idea what it is. Taste is nicely bitter, not too sharp but very full and also malt focused bitterness. Doesn’t have too many layers but is a good West Coast IPA, satisfying your thirst for hops.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Forte arôme de cannabis, pamplemousse et résine de pin dans un liquide qui semble farouche. Corps bien aéré, longue amertume qui surf sur la resine et une franche sécheresse.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tantalising pine through to the dry bitterness. Good carbonation gives it a rich white head and cloudy body gives away a positive signal as an IPA. You would not like any munch to go with this beer, there is much flavour and aroma to savour in itself. Good crafty craft beer which I certainly like to share with good friends over a lengthy chat.

3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pungent hoppy aroma gives one a feeling of fear and excitement. Flavor of hops, lime, grapefruit. Has the aftertaste of eating the gross white part of an orange. Not nice. My guess is it comes from a hop variety that I’m not loving. I give cred for what they tried to do, but it doesn’t do it for me

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at their place in San Diego. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is grapefruit and not much else. Flavor follows with good bitterness. Finishes clean and dry. Decent beer.
