COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

nuts, toast, roasty, citrus, herbs, woody, smoke, vanilla. An awesome IPA. Most IPAs that I drink have an large alcohol taste. Not Tower 10, smooth with a great after taste.

This is possibly Karl Straussí BEST publicly-available offering. Itís a well-balanced San Diego-style IPA with perfect hoppiness combined with a mild alcohol feel and light refreshing malt tones which linger just long enough to make you thirsty for another sip. There are overlying subtleties of nuts, toast, roasty, resin, grass and herbs, This is a well-done IPA from a great German-style brewer.

One of the best IPA on the market. Canít get enough of it. The aroma is unique and catchy. The overall drinkablity is great.

My favorite beer from Karl Strauss. Great amber color. Crisp IPA with a fast rising hoppy flavor. Finishes with a pure hoppy aroma and taste. Body is lighter than some IPAís which makes it an easy to drink but high quality IPA. Has become one of my favorite beers to keep in the fridge.

Pours with a good head and great effervescence. Nice bitterness, but could do with a tad more malt. Well priced though, and sessionable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Yummy and full flavored, yet light enough to refresh. This reminds me off many days at a beach bar, relaxing with a great beer after a nice day in the sun. The citrus and pine are light and refreshing, it just screams San Diego!

I was initially bummed out by the beer.. Iím quite the hop-head and despite the 60 IBUs this beer has, the first sip on the tongue has very little bite to it. It starts off super malty, however sticking to its IPA name, its got a dry, bitter after-taste that lingers for some time. Extremely drinakable beer and great for those times when you want a beer with some bite but donít want a right-off-the-bat palate destroyer.

Six pack from Dan Murphy.Very nice drop, not an explosion of hops in your mouth like some IPA's, and the 7% ABV doesn't show it's head until you are a few bottles in. Would definitely buy again. Recommended ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Best IPA I have had in a while. One of the few "true IPSs" around these days, other than from Britain. Itís a traditional style IPA, which might explain the low ratings on here. I doubt most hipsters or American beer drinkers would know what a classic IPA is supposed to taste like. You can tell right away from the carbonation and the pale color. This is no "American Style IPA" but rather the classic style IPA. Which surprises the heck out of me coming from San Diego. Glad at least one American brewery had the cajones to go with the classic rather then trendy/modern style. hatís off to them for that. I donít want to speculate too much, but I would bet the brewmaster knew his English IPAs well.

Nice IPA, pours well has a pleasant aroma. At first has soft sweetness and finishes with a nice bitter ness.
