COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

Bottle: From a sample pack at Bev and More. Tower 10 is a good into into IPA’s, light not too intimidating. But if you have experienced more intense IPAs this will leave you flat.

On tap at Dinseyland. Little to no head. Not carbonated eneough for my liking but tasted OK on a hot day. Could have been hoppier.

This taste like sudsy dishwater and salt. I rather be hit with a tire iron than ever drink this again. The aftertaste is that of mucus and regret. Gross. There is a particular artisan habitat that the IPA lives in, and this Karl Strauss beer is not it. Ugh. I want to bleach my tongue.

A cloudy golden, apricot-color with rocky white foam. Very sweet aroma - candy sugar, bubble gum. Creamy, chewy feel, tacky on the tongue, foaming, with medium heavy heft. Oaty, biscuit, maple. Very sweet. Pines, resins, citrus bitterness, some fusels. Finishes bittersweet. Could finish much dryer and with a significantly lighter malt bill.

On draft at the SD airport. I will write this with the disclaimer that most (if not all) of the off flavors of this beer came from unclean taps at this awful airport bar. Nose of citrus, pineapple, spoiled cream. Taste was expired sour cream, dirty socks, pineapple and afterbirth.
