Mission Beach, the late 1980s. Amid a sea of neon bikinis, Tower 10 marked the spot where two college grads and a 75 year-old master brewer drew up plans for the first local craft brewery in San Diego since Prohibition. Named in honor of our first good idea, Tower 10 IPA is brewed to inspire the next one.

Tower 10 IPA boasts hops from beginning to end, and everywhere in between. We fill the brew kettle to the brim with assertive Chinook hops, giving the beer its intense grapefruit and pine flavors that linger through its dry finish. After fermentation, we dry hop with a blend of Cascade and Centennial hops for a floral citrus aroma. A touch of lightly kilned caramel malts make Tower 10 a well balanced, full flavor IPA.

Got caramel mixed with easy going citrus in aroma. Nice malty taste. Can taste grapefruit. Resinous. Maybe even biscuit. Nice bitterness. Gets better as it warms. Quality beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good standard IPA, not too big on hops but ok, as it would distract from mellow malts. Defiantly bitter, hoppy very nice example of a west coast IPA.

35,5 cl bottle @ Sankt Hans Tasting, Ulfborg Aroma has tropical fruits and some sweetish fruit juice. Flavour has strong grapefruity tones, tropical fruits and some mild alcohol tones. I like the aggressive hops here. Delicious.

355 ml bottle from Bier-Deluxe

Bottled January 2015 :( - Pours yellowish orange with a smooth head. Aroma of grassy hops, grapefruit, citrus, lemon, herbal and fruity notes. Taste is crisp, hoppy and resinous with some grass, grapefruit, citrus and lemon. Finish is sweetish, piney and resinous with loads of citrus, grapefruit and lemon. Pretty generic but balanced and surprisingly tasty despite the bottle is not very fresh.

Rating #1718 - 2015.06.02 - Bottle from San Diego - Pours a clear golden amber, aromatics of grapefruit, pinecone, orange peel. More grapefruit, citrus notes sweet and a mildly aggressive bitterness that isn’t unwarranted. Lovely stuff.
