Pours amber in color with a finger of off-white head. Kind of past its prime, it seems. Sweet caramel and toffee malt with some bready malt. Floral hops and a bit of citrus, but not all that hoppy. A little bit herbal and piney with some floral notes. Sweet toffee and bread, but overall just kind of meh.

Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Fred’s the man! Pours copper with a creamy/foamy/bubbly light beige head. Hop aroma is dank! It’s not harsh. It’s just very heavy duty. Floral and citrus, probably. Full bodied. It’s got a lot of light roast malt. It’s almost suggesting barley wine. But there is a load of citrus, floral and resin hop. Curl around this and take a nap. Succulent. Finishes both dry and sweet. Taste is just wonderful. Makes my salivary glands ache with pleasure.

Pours a amber-honey color with a small off white head which fades to some lacing. aroma is of citrus, some pine, some biscuit malts, and some caramel malts. flavor is similar with a lot of lemon, and caramel a tad bit of booze, and is generally maltier then I thought it would be. Has a medium-full body with slightly creamy mouthfeel and oily, bitter finish. overall, a pretty good DIPA that is a not has hoppy as other great SD DIPA’s.

Poured from a 22-oz. bomber into a pint glass. About two fingers of head. Color was caramel honey toffee. Brownish white lacing with some bubbles on the top. Wet, uneven and sporadic film on the sides. Smelled lemon citrus hops up front. Also some lime piny notes in there. Sweet floral notes. Fairly malty, but still refreshing on the nose. Very balanced taste, could hardly taste the alcohol. Lemon citrus hops really came through here. The maltiness seemed to balance the citrus hops out. So smooth. Medium body. Average carbonation. Slight bitter, but smooth finish. Refreshing feeling. Really liked this beer as I do with most of the ones from Karl Strauss. Smoot h and very drinkable.

22oz Bottle. Honey coloration with a bubbly white head. Decent nose with strong grapefruit, orange and a bit of pine. Taste is brightly hopped with heavy pine and citrus balanced by a fresh cereal flavor and lots of crystal malt. The bitterness is powerful, but not overwhelming and is held in check by the thick malt backbone. Unfortunately this beer is a little too heavy on the palate, with a syrupy texture that makes it feel like a malt bomb. Carbonation is persistent and well done. Finishes with a big hoppy bite and a lingering bitterness. Pretty decent beer, but not worth the price compared to our other San Diego IIPAs.

650 ml bottle courtesy of freddy. Pours an amber-yellow color with a big off-white head. Very potent nose with lots of citrus, especially oranges and tangerines. The flavor is that of a hoppy-citrusy IPA with grapefruit, oranges and papaya set in a caramel malt base that is rich in toffee. The palate is full and smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes medium in duration and dry. Overall: Very tasty brew, me like.

Nice Centennial hop flavor profile. Citrusy but not very piney. Weak nose but a great body and good finish.

Nice tanned body with a ring of head. Lovely nectarine, sweet hop aromatic bliss intermingles with grain dust. Like a resplendently delicious wheatwine. The body is replete with juicy hoppiness and tropical fruit. An IPA freshening on the vine, were it too stay on much longer, it would indubitable ripen and age into a pleasant old barleywine. Tasty stuff.
