3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brew outlet on Columbia St, San Diego on 18th March 2014. Tower 10ís big hoppy brother came cloudy like itís little bro but with an alcohol kick and a sweeter feel within. The off golden body had a foaming head that tried to stay around and give lacing. More hops and more maltiness, I enjoyed it more than the 10, most likely because it had more depth and flavour. It appealed to my sweet tooth also. Iím no expert on DIPAís but I liked this one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Picked up a corny keg for my kegirator. Pours a cloudy straw, small head and lively bubbles. Aroma is weak for a DIPA. Flavor isnít overly hoppy, big maltiness. Notes of mild citrus and some floral. I didnít realize it was 9.5 ABV until now, is it is well hidden. Easy to drink. Not what I would call a true DIPA, except for the ABV. I wanted this to be big, bold and hopped out.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at brewery. Pours a slightly red with white head. Aroma is nice floral hops, some malts and a touch of citrus. Taste matches the aroma. Floral hops make this flowery but in a good way.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not an overwhelming aroma, hoppy and citrus. Pours clear orange with a white head. Nice hop flavors balanced with a good malt backbone, smooth finish with lingering citrus flavors.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not in your face hops, faded or this is it as should have been recent batch.
Still nicely drinkable, thanks StephanSD.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy orange amber with a medium white head. Aroma brings out a big caramel malt backbone, resinous hops, and some residual sugar. Flavour brings out some notes of yeast, resinous hops, some bready malts, and some dry caramel malts. There are some sweet fruity notes that kick in later. Finishes malty sweet, with a bit of dark fruits. Not the hoppiest IIPA out there by any means - overtaken by the sweeter malt profile on this. Drinkable in smaller amounts - I wouldnít want a pint of this. Decent.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at the Costa Mesa brewpub - Pours clear light amber with a foamy white head. Nose is caramelly sweet malt, muted pine hops, and not much else. Taste is tons of sweet honey malt, muted pine hops, and a long malty finish. Medium body with nice carbonation. Just too malty and not enough hop punch.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: † Amberish, pale haze, moderate to large frothy off-white head, nice lacing. † Citrus peel, pith, hops, and alcohol on the nose. † Similar on the tongue, not too bright, but thankfully the 9.5% really only comes through on the nose. † Bitter but not biting, decent malt background, mild citrus sweetness. † Body and mouthfeel are moderate. † Nota big example, but not overly done on either side. † Could be a little brighter, but as is its pretty enjoyable. † Thanks Ron!
