The definition of a great imperial ipa. Pours golden orange with some carbonation. Great hoppy flavor that gently lingers on the palate.

Bottle: Another strong, potent, over the top DIPA: it’s getting boring. It just may be time to explore other beer styles. Food Pairing: Strong cheese.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2013 The more you drink this the more you love it. Well hidden alcohol. 5.69 @ Grocery Outlet. This hits on all cylinders. Packed with flavors. Toasted sunflower shell, hops, bitterness and body are very enjoyable blending together in unison. Don’t pass it up! Rerate: I had tis again at the same price! This beer is frickin’ unbelieveable! I may be my DNA beer match! Dry toasty sweet hops! Brilliant. Bad Ass Beer!!!!!

22oz bottle pours a slight amber in color with white head. There’s not a strong aroma. Pine grapefruit and citrus taste.

From bomber to pint glass. Aromas are a little grassy and harsh. Alcohol is moderately prominent. Orange, and very slightly hazy. Flavor is grainy and high bitterness. A little more hop flavor and aroma would balance out the sugars and alcohol here.

Barreras (1160) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - JUL 19, 2014
Pours a clear copper color with a floral aroma. This beer is true double IPA in flavor. Bold hoppy aftertaste, with a floral flavor. Mild spiciness that lingers a little while after the swallow. Nothing too fancy but nicely balanced.

skmikeg (1160) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - APR 7, 2012
Pours a amber-honey color with a small off white head which fades to some lacing. aroma is of citrus, some pine, some biscuit malts, and some caramel malts. flavor is similar with a lot of lemon, and caramel a tad bit of booze, and is generally maltier then I thought it would be. Has a medium-full body with slightly creamy mouthfeel and oily, bitter finish. overall, a pretty good DIPA that is a not has hoppy as other great SD DIPA’s.

Bottle, 06/26/2012. Thanks to LtDan the man. Light, cloudy copper pour, thin white head doesn’t last long, spotty lacing. Dank, herbal hops, orange citrus, caramel malts heavy, not your typical Cali IPA profile. Smooth citrusy hops, subtle pine edge, almost blending in with caramel backbone, bitterness fighting back in the finish. Medium resinous body, expansive almost like a barley wine. Not the aggressive IIPA offering one might expect, an interesting change-up.
