Idiosynkrasie (4685) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUN 29, 2014
650ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney hoppy aroma, biscuity malty background, hints of mandarine, orange, pineapple, a floral touch. Taste is initially crisp bitter hoppy, giving way for fruity and piney notes, some peach, mango, mandarine, biscuity malt basis; slightly mineral, bitter hoppy and minimally soapy finish, a touch of warming alcohol. Relatively light body for a DIPA, nice fruitiness, no challenge for hopheads.

lusikka (6984) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 2, 2014
650 ml bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy golden colour with a white firm foamy head. Aroma of spicy hops, floral notes, lemon zest and some sweet notes. Rich flavour of citrusy bitterness, earth, mango, fair amount of alcohol and some graininess. Medium bodied and a long, warming, bitter finish. Alcohol comes through a bit too much. Other than that quite nice.

650ml bottle from Saveur-biere.com

Pours orange with a white head. Aroma of pine, malts, resinous hops, grass and citrus. Taste is heavy, malty, piney and grassy with some citrusy and caramely notes. Finish is heavy, malty and piney with some citrus and grass. Doesn’t feel super fresh, but not very old either. Any ways, quite heavy and a bit dull malty double IPA

Light golden color. Frothy white head. Very heady nose with floral and fruit notes. Full body sticky mouth, resiny, but lacks depth. Alcohol is fairly well. Nice clean IIPA that is enjoyable but nothing too special.

Decent DIPA, piney but a bit on the caramel side. I think that this might be an older bottling. I wish they would date their bottles.

Clear deep gold with white head. Nose is typical ipa - nothing too remarkable. Taste is hops the whole way through: starts tangerine, moves to pine resin, and finishes with dank grapefruit. Fairly sweet and heavy. Hoppy to the 9s.

Bottle:   Amberish, pale haze, moderate to large frothy off-white head, nice lacing.   Citrus peel, pith, hops, and alcohol on the nose.   Similar on the tongue, not too bright, but thankfully the 9.5% really only comes through on the nose.   Bitter but not biting, decent malt background, mild citrus sweetness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Nota big example, but not overly done on either side.   Could be a little brighter, but as is its pretty enjoyable.   Thanks Ron!
