Tap, downtown. Some yeastiness in the nose. Fairly dry. Graininess seems to dominate along with a little spice.

Pours hazy golden yellow with white head. Aromas of banana, clove, and some yeast. Flavors of wheat, light lemon, banana, and a bit clove. Decent Hefe. Pretty drinkable.

On tap at the Costa Mesa location - Pours hazy yellow with a ring of white head. Nose is classic banana/clove...wow, nailed it! Taste is good, but not as pungent--more mineral, less banana. Finishes sweet with muted clove. Full, fluffy body.

Draft at Black Angus. My favorite of all the Karl Strauss I have tried. Cloudy yellow color with a decent head. Citrus aromas and flavors. Very smooth mouthfeel.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2007 I’m usually not a fan of lighter beers, but I love this one. Great lemon colored cloudy unfiltered beer. Served on tap at Karl Strauss brewery in Carlsbad. Good medium head with great lacing. A bit of corriander, very little bitterness. Try again and brought rating from 4 to 3.8

On tap at beer stand in Disney. Thanks again to Ratebeerians, for the alert on this being the only semidecent beer in the place. I opted for the slice of orange. Very hazy, somewhat pale, constant head made it look nice. Big banana nose, once you get past the orange. Palate is sour yet dry and astringent, very carbonated in a good way. A very solid German-style hefe.

draft: Gold in color with haze and not much head developed from the pour. Nose was light. Flavor was of moderate amount of wheat and small spicy note of clove. Fairly decent.

Part of a sampler in San Diego. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of banana, citrus, and cloves. Similar flavor, a light beer. Decent overall.

A very nice suprise, tasted on draft at Strauss Universal city. Much more flavor than I was expecting, nice fruitiness, creamy, nice on the tongue, Good example of an American brewer doing a German style hefe.
